    Okay, it might be possible for me to become a 4th Circle magician before graduation

    So lame, he just depends on a beggars black market, how can he improve fast with just that.
    I knew the moment he chose to stay in the school for 1 more year, despite gluttony, he would hug the thigh of vince, why doesn't he buy a artifact from black market and sell it, he can earn average 2-3 gold per artifact, then buy higher quality artifact and sell them, he can build 100 libraries in a year at least...

      If nobody ever reads the books , disappearance of books is not a crime.But touching others propery especially government property(in this case the schools property) is a pretty big flaw if you ask me.

        Just because nobody touches/reads them, doesn't make it suddenly not a crime though - he is permanently destroying (eating) property that doesn't belong to him, some of which have been rare original editions which are insanely expensive.

        He said he would replace them, though given his poverty it seems extremely unlikely. Though since it looks like he will be telling Vince, he will likely get it covered up for him.

      I think it's a flaw as well, MC may say it's for survival, but if that is the case he could just print online books, or is the setting medieval, I truly can't tell
