      Mastery of many academic subjects doesn't necessarily make you good at finding ways in life and social interactions. In fact, it usually does the opposite due to consuming a lot of time that could be spent on socializing or thinking about life in general. And it was never mentioned MC "learned everything". At least, not in a general way you portrayed

    Why do protagonists stick to the orthodox paths... He should drop out already, he has learnt everything anyways, by sticking to orthodox he has to constantly hide his powers, lower his growth rate, restricted by rules, chances of suspicion increases. Plus who made this useless library? Its like university library in grade school or something, that person has no brains.

      Well there are reasons that he shouldn't dropout from school
      1) free access to this magic books which he can use to feed gluttony. We know that he is poor and can't buy magic books daily to feed gluttony.
      2) And if can't graduate from Academy he will not be able to fit into society and will face more difficulty and problems when he want to do anything related to magic. Since he does not have proof of credibility. You guys should know how society and human interaction works.
      3) And since I think that magical books are important commodity it cannot be sell to anyone & a nobody.

      And there r many more benefits to it
