      yea he was the guy who sent a the letter to that divine investigator guy about the blood sea inheritance under the Gu Yue clan, he also has a grudge against the first ancestor of the Gu Yue clan because he was the one who found the inheritance but the ancestor stole it from him

      later after the mc escaped the mountain he found Fang Zheng and brought him back to the Central Continent and now lives inside his body cuz he was already close to dying

            I don't know, I guess this is your first serious novel or one of a couple, I think you are used to reading too much trash ones where it is fast and light and where everything goes right for the MC
            well, it's not a thing here, it's more realistic he does become better in later chapters where his hard work shows but so far he is only building his foundation to get better at later realms where it matters since these realms are called
            and ofc body matters when it comes to cultivation hard work doesn't matter that much when you for example; simply get 10 points of energy daily while the other gets 1000, your 100 days of hard work can be achieved in 1 day of a talented one so it doesn't make sense if he just overwhelms everyone when he has shit body and nothing but knowledge
            and gotta say man if you don't enjoy it this early just don't read anymore because it is how it is, sometimes shit goes right but more times than others things go wrong for him because he doesn't know everything that happens in 500 years he only knew the big events and the events or knowledge he personally involved in or learned in the past which is realistic
            it's not like a trash novel MC going back in time and acts like he was the world itself knowing everything about what happens around the world
            anyways, I stopped reading this novel at chapter 700 something and gonna re-read it later when I am free because too much info and stress while reading because you can't predict what gonna happen which is the beauty of it

              My problem is not about his all knowing attribute. But misfortunes that come like unceasingly. He makes perfect plans but all the time his plans thwarted in the long term. For example he just want to sell flower wine monk's image. But result? A f#cking super Tie clan is his enemy with a cockroach of unkillable Tie Ruo nan bitch. This is not realistic anymore. It is in the border of impossible. I read many great novel not just binge ones. But never ever i see an MC that makes enemies this much fast. So many coincidences coming together like fate(!) wants it. This is borderline disgusting. In reality not so much hardship possible. Also he didn't kill Ruo bitch's father but she believed it was him with %100 percent certainty. Bruh.. And that time he was just Rank 3. What a f#cking illogical approach is that.

                you see, he lived for 500 years and achieved something that wasn't really that good even tho he was kinda strong in his past life he was not even near the strongest they could kill him like a fly
                that's why he always makes long term plans to never put himself in that situation again and build a strong foundation to get stronger on the big stage where the foundation is all that matters
                and for him not killing them is because of something answered kinda in later chapters

                Those all make logical sense. The tai clan was hunting after him so them getting blown up by his trapsake perfect sense. And that he only got to the same rank asc while being in a prodgy In a immortal cultivation sect whilec is jsuts some guy in a backwater city kinda shows the difference. This all is really logical.
                And that plans never hold up to realty is a basic fact of life. Just that novels normally ignore that.

          MC was a good brother though. MC exposed himself as a genius to care for him because they were being abused when they were children, and he always took on the role of a 'big brother' by giving him more food and he always made sure he was warm, MC sacrificed a lot for him and probably sacrificed a lot more in the first timeline. After MC came back he was already an uncaring demon with a single purpose in life. But even before MC came back he was always a good brother to him, he just developed an inferiority complex and started biting the hand that fed him literally.
