    the fact that Maskelyne gave you his amulet are doomed to kill you

    completely true. he only used Maskelyne's amulet against junior level combatants, once he's middle level and got those rings, the amulet never get mentioned once in hundreds of chapters. not to mention being unsealed or used, what a pity, a legendary artifact being forgotten like that
