    Idk, why would they be suspicious of mc not making trouble? After all, people are individuals, some people just do not like making trouble and might not have negative view/doesn't care about people practicing necromancy. Overall, reasoning for this is bit weird.

      No, it's totally sounds argument. They perceived MC from opposing faction and MC is aware about it also. He's aso posing as a high ranker with at least similar power than this Felipe.

      With regards to political issues, if MC do nothing while opposing faction is trying to get members, this could be seen as suspicious behavior of a typical high ranking mage from WoE party.

      Remember the key here is the Congress of Magic as an organization, not individual battle between Felipe and a mysterious high ranking Professor, but also 2 different camps.

      You can imagine this scene as US representative wanted to poach Ukraine, if Russia representative did nothing, that representative looks very suspicious. Is he really a representative of Russia or a spy.
