With his brain remaining cool and after catching this key point, Lucien smiled politely, “Nice to meet you, Mr. Felipe. I have long heard of your name.”

It's true say that smart people tends to Overthink sometimes.

Although I understand there conclusion of MC being powerful sorcerer is only due to church cleansing list. MC name in list had made him shroud in more mystery and make him seem more powerful swindler swindler

I mean it's very questionable how no one is really judging Evan power... I mean... well tha author like this kind of cliché (the MC pretending to be way stronger than what he actually is and always get away with it)

The very questionable thing is, a middle rank or superior rank can't identify a first circle power? Is the MC halo works so well to hide everything? Lol

It's said here already that Disguise Spell is not working for 2 levels above you and that the one using hood most likely low level, even apprentices. The MC is wearing a hood. Lol

How dense are the people here? Or the average intelligence is actually that low here? oru2x

The novel did say early on that it's hard to tell if someone has magic unless they recently advanced and their power is unstable. If it were trivial to tell their level just by being a higher level, then every apprentice in Aalto would have long been discovered.

There have been indications that high enough levels can tell to some extent. But if Sard (the level 9? bishop) couldn't read the MC's level, it's basically impossible for these people here to. The MC's blessing also seems to help disguise his power, which was the explanation for why Sard couldn't see through him.

Likewise, the statement about Disguise Self is related to the actual spell being in effect. Seeing through an active spell is much different than seeing through a person.
