        I think it actually was love. I mean the Admiral is genuinely a good person to those he considers family and is close with. The main thing that f#cked everything up was her parents trying to push her to have the Admirals kids. Then the whole MToD shit.

        It was love. A demigod like Amyrus would know if an ordinary person was cheating him. Plus, he’s also a good guy from what we can tell. He cherishes his friends and family and clearly cares for them. Also, just because she’s trying to help her family, doesn’t mean that she doesn’t love him. One doesn’t necessarily conflict the other. Couples also face pressure from parents to have grandchildren or to start a family. Her parents just rushed her to have a baby with Amyrus. Their relationship would have reached that stage eventually.
