        Well I know that Klein needs strong emotional bonds however he never truly tries to form them with any other individual, he only bonded with the siblings because he had no choice and the only time he ever truly tries to is with Mr. Azik. There isn't any romance because Klein never tries to form any bonds with the other charectors

        However that's just my interpretation
