      Private Investigators can gain a name but lesser then either a reporter or a well renowned author. Seeing as this is an era of information and just passing into mid-late industrial, books, newspapers and other such entertainment consisting of words on the printed page, are incredibly popular, and so anyone that is either an author or reporter, and is actually good means their fame will spread quickly. Private detective however, has a much more nuanced "fame."

      Maybe, but does that really matter? For all he knows, Rodelle was the only ever transmigrator, and there haven't been any others. For many others would've also become famous one would think, with their knowledge from planet Earth. Also, there's always a chance that there is simply people out there called Sherlock who have decided to become detectives. Yes, the chance is low but still there. Also also, his name won't spread that far, so any transmigrator would have to be in this specific city to hear of him.
