    Why not? Coal is also formed through fossilized organic matter, typically algae or moss.

If the planet were only as old as the gods and they hyper developed the world it may not have the proper foundations in place for crude oil to be naturally present.

    I mean they use coal, so it would only make sense for there to be crude oil deposits as well. Unless someone or something took it all or magic is involved.

    If they have gas that means there are Hydrocarbon materials on this planet. So theoretically there should be Crude oil.

If the planet were only as old as the gods and they hyper developed the world it may not have the proper foundations in place for crude oil to be naturally present.
