Karnak, Monarch of Death is an excellent comedy that subverts many fantasy clichés.

The story follows Karnak, a necromancer who, after spending his entire life accumulating power, finally achieves his goal: to become the Sovereign Lord of the entire world. However, the glory is short-lived as he quickly discovers that being a Lich is utterly boring—he can't eat, get drunk, or enjoy various other experiences he craves.

Thus, Karnak and his faithful, yet sarcastic, second-in-command, Barros, reach a consensus: unlife is unbearably dull. They decide to travel back in time.

They manage to return to a time when they are young and stripped of their godly powers. Their plan is no longer to conquer the world, but simply to live a life of luxury, fine dining, and alcohol, enjoying the small pleasures they were previously denied.

However, this new journey won't be easy. The most compelling detail is that, even in their original timeline where they were victorious over all, Karnak and Barros were never the strongest in terms of raw power. Many of their accomplishments were achieved through cunning, intelligence, and sheer malice. While their moral compass is completely warped, the majority of this immorality is handled comically.

In this second chance, they are trying to be slightly better people. Essentially, it is a comedy about two unconventional idiots whose main goal is a life based on worldly pleasures.

I didn't read the novels I just reviewed right now; I actually read them a long time ago. For example, I first discovered Karnak, Monarch of Death on Wuxiaworld, and then I bought the chapters on Naver to read them using an AI-MTL

Korean MC’s often make decision based on emotions instead of actually using their heads, do we have the same opinion?
