Following the death of the emperor, the Astanian Empire plunged into chaos. His two sons both aiming for the throne caused a civil war that divided the empire.

In the midst of this conflict, Alaric was forced into conscription. He later joined the crown prince’s army as a company commander.

He led his 100-man army into battle, fiercely fighting with the hope of a better future. Unfortunately, he was just too weak to cause a ripple on the battlefield.

A single arrow to the head shattered his hopes and he died without even a proper burial.

Just when he thought that everything was over, he found himself back to his younger self with his memories intact.

Armed with his knowledge of the future and a system that awakened his dormant powers, Alaric began his journey to overcome his fated demise. Collapse

Its a decent novel to pass the time if you go into it expecting "Starting With an A-Rank Swordsmanship Talent". His talent is nowhere near what is advertised, due to an author lacking in intelligence all his talent amounts to is beating people a rank above him. We see no innovative or interesting sword moves, with ordinary talents evenly canceling out his skills in some cases. The fights suck and amount to "with his talent Alaric easily suppressed person B and defeated him"

This is a message to the author for the chapter "ashamed"/394
Now why is Alaric apologizing, aren't we harem this novel and now she's not the only one, he has Elena and Ivana, so what did Alaric do so much

    And So
So did you do it for the readers or because you wanted to?Why do I personally think that the food he showed with Matilda is something different than usual? Write a hero is good he doesn't like to be like that

Hello everyone! I'm writing this when there are 445 chapters. English is not my native language, so I apologize in advance. So, my rating is 6/10.

The combat system isn't the best, but it's tolerable. The combat scenes... let's just say... they're boring. If the combat is short, it's not a problem. However, if there's a deeper meaning behind the combat (
), the battle can span several chapters. if this happens with small battles, you can understand what happens with big ones, where there is always a point. 10 chapters can be taken by one battle. it's tolerable when those who are stronger than the protagonist or the protagonist himself are fighting. but when the scene is shown from the perspective of someone else... it's terrifying

Let's move on to the worldbuilding. It's not bad here. Everything has consequences, and there are no "cozy corners"
. The system helps the main character in a concise manner, although there are moments when the system causes strange events, which are attributed to the "secret of the main character that he doesn't want to reveal." but of course, it's more amusing to see the vast number of geniuses that Alaric "accidentally" encounters on the street. However, there aren't many of them, so it's tolerable.

The characters' personalities. It's like a heroic epic. Almost everyone is kind, while the villains are always evil, corrupt, and cruel. If someone behaves maliciously, you can almost always say that they are a villain who will die at the hands of Alarico and Co. (
). The harem is also a bit of a bother. I don't have a problem with the fact that there's a harem in the world, but...
. There are still questions about Alaric's cruelty (
    )

The quality of the writing is satisfactory.

I was expecting a focus on swordplay. The introduction promised that... or at least, seemed to. The world setting was interesting enough, and I liked the writing quality. LITRPGs in fantasy worlds are always fun. And the system encouraging its user to begin practicing swordsmanship with thrusts only further bolstered my hopes until... the MC picked up his second sword... Ah yes. The dual swordsman. Every SAO loving, powerangers mask wearing, jedi knight wannabe's wet dream. And all of my hopes came crashing down. Once again, a trope is redundant, overused, and hardly applied in a way that makes mechanical sense. There is not even any build up to this point, simply on a whim, at the start of a minor tournament arc, our beloved MC picks up a second sword simply... because he "is bored and wants to try something different". While they are still an amateur swordsman. How does he wield these dual blades, you might ask? Well I have no clue. While the climax of this change succeeds in illustrating his adversaries defending and fighting back with their own longswords, broadswords, halberds... our MC simply fights back... masterfully. That's it. No description on how he fights, just bland reactions that however he is must be absolutely masterful and skillful, save for him breaking an opponents weapon with a double blow. This itself does not even make sense. Swinging two swords does not make attacks more powerful, it does not make you faster, it does not even allow for better defense. Mechanically, there is no way that splitting the physical force of your two limbs between weapons instead of focusing them on one any kind of superior physics. Again, this is not even the purpose of dual wielding. The purpose of dual wielding is to allow some more technical variety and the ability to take advantage of a bit more openings. Unfortunately, few fictions seem to understand or utilize this properly. I can give psionic space men with laser swords a pass, but the only fiction I know of personally that accurately displays technical dual-weapon fighting is the forgotten realms series. That's it. This isn't a book about swordsmanship. It's just another wet fantasy about "a cool guy with two swords" and a "super duper skill" that "fights good". Maybe this is someone else's perfect cup of tea, but I am going to go ahead and walk away from this and forget.
