I Am The Swarm吾即是虫群

my review. It's not a bad book, it's quite interesting to read, it has some good ideas and ideas. But. And then carefully. The further the story goes, the longer it gets. It's not that it's a bad thing if you have a lot of energy and time to read and you like the writing style. Just know that by the end of the story, the events (well, for example, the chase) that in other books are a dynamic scene for 2-3 chapters at most, in this book there may be 20-30 chapters. In addition, the infamous chase scene towards the end of the book, in my opinion, could not have been so prolonged at all. But I'm probably anti-advertising this book. This is a good, interesting book about evolution (without tricks, just knowing more is better), biopunk, space battles, and the thoughts of the main character (he is...pragmatic, I think?). In general, if you are ready for a long read, go ahead.

This is a slow slog to read, author over explains and over complicates constantly and the space battles take FOREVER. Most of the story isn't even centered on the MC, it's just random people fighting the swarm who have almost zero impact on the actual story, dialog is the same for most of it, just random speculation about what the swarm is going to do.

I have conflicting feelings about this piece. On one hand, it just hit the right nerves with a mixture of realistic sci-fi and fantasy elements, such as gene acquisition. The world and MC realism are top notch.
Unfortanly, all good things come to an end. The author is a novice, latter half of he story, he failed miserably at writing a believable secondary character. All characters are extremely boring and off.
Another major fall is the author failing to move on, after chapter 400-500, he got lost on what to write. To the point that the novel didn't have a proper ending, the author simply gave up and came up with something on the fly.
I would only recommend the first half of the story.

I feel very disappointed at the ending...
It felt like talking a story with a start, but left with a "till next time", and no ending.

Plot hole on:
*Mage guy
*MC race'
*Who is the one whom rush/hunt the Mage guy in Ch1.
*What's his state now? is there another similar existences? (Network)
*Who is this Qi civilization?
*Who is Qi' enemy, which they went go the past to finish them off.
