I hate how the MC deceives and lies to Luo Shuying.

He always helped him in the simulation, sacrificing himself to protect him

It's not like the lie is malicious. He's just hiding his origins and being cautious, and for good reason as well. Not harm with telling a lie that wont hurt her.

I think it's shitty, horrible, how his life in reality doesn't exist.

I'm on chapter 460, and he's barely interacted with anyone in reality.

He's simulated dozens of times, and it's never gone wrong for her to know his identity.

But in the real world, he doesn't get close to anyone. He meets the woman from the store every 10 chapters for a sentence.

In the 460 chapters I've read, he hasn't met his family.

For us it seems like it's been a long time but for him its only been a year or so since the beginning of the novel. Maybe 1-2 years. He's focused on saving the world, so He's focusing on that. After all, he can interact with his family later, but he can't do it if they're all dead.

As for him lying to her, he's being paranoid. He knows that he can die in the simulation as much as he wants but irl he only has one life. He needs to be cautious.

As for getting close to people, he can do that after he saves the world. He can't do anything if he fails to save it. It's much better to isolate yourself and save others than to regret not focusing on increasing your strength and letting others die.

I'm not saying that what he does is objectively right, but it doesn't mean he is a shitty person.

And to add on to this, from what I’ve seen, the simulation isn’t always accurate. Some things pop up that weren’t simulated, so keeping things as predictable as possible is in his best interest.
