      Probably because he has seen it as a negative thing from the start. He doesn't want others to feel like their life is useless. If someone told me another me would appear every time he regresses then I have no idea how I would react to that, but it certainly wouldn't be a very positive outcome on my life till death.

      By not telling him he is basically allowing him to live out his life and squeeze out his potential without distractions.
