I mean, in stories set on realistic side harem is not good but in fantasy? I can it becoming one of the most common things. The more powerful you are the more people you will attract and in fantasy setting the difference between common people and top of the food chain is even more insane than irl.

1 female lead is fine, but harem is better then Zoey for sure. Ive seen novels with both done better or worse so yea, it depends on a specific case and the single important fact is that if there is just 1 fmc... She needs to be good.
And here author already failed that.
Zoey is not horrible but man I really dont want her as FL, and if she stays, harem is the only option to save this.

I feel the same way in regards to fantasy novels with extreme powerscaling, 1 female lead tends to cause problems with power dynamics and drastically different levels of lived experience.
Generally, without ridiculous plot armour or bullshit pulls from the author, a female lead will be left behind in power when compared to an MC, which leaves the MC in an awkward position where he wants to be loyal to his partner, but they have so little in common anymore in regards to what they have experienced or will continue to experience. After this another female character will come along and be a good match for the MC, using the same criteria I mentioned before, this leaves not only the MC in an awkward spot, but the readers too. Some novels go with the idea of the MC raising up the female lead alongside him, but this creates issues of its own, like the FL tending to feel like a piece of decoration as opposed to a real character of importance.
Personally when it comes to fantasy stories like this, where the power scales so ridiculously high, I prefer either no FL or just go the harem route and let the harem keep the MCs relationships feeling fresh instead of letting the romance aspect go stale and restrictive.
To be honest, as long as each relationship is equally fleshed out, I don’t particularly mind when the MC has a harem…as long as it also fits into the story and can be made to mesh with the MC’s personality.
