im wondering why there is none drug story, despite the presence of gang violence and prostitution

From what I remember back in LoM. There are drugs and obviously alcohol is one of those. But the organized crime that would run them is often built with a lot of beyonders. Alcohol and drugs are, for ye average beyonder a great way to not digest your potion and fall to corruption.

Ok the theater and monsieur Ive are really wierd, are they connected to MtoD? It reminds me of the criminal and prizonier pathway and that it's centered around desire, and both of those come from MtoD

Drugs are escape. I guess having supernatural stuff triumphs over that? Or maybe its not fitting the world setting? Don't forget tech and science is way behind in this era.

He detected nothing suspicious with the actors, nor could he discern anything out of the ordinary within the theater itself during his regular sojourns to the restroom during intermissions.

Madame Fels had hinted that Monsieur Ive cultivated a rooftop vegetable garden as a cost-saving measure. Lumian deduced that the Ive residence must, therefore, be on the apartment building’s top floor, the sixth to be exact.

This is just what I feel or rather noticed that LOTM2 or COI has a more flexible way of using beyonder powers compared to BOOK 1 that is LOTM. Not that the way beyonder powers are used in LOTM is bad or not cool but I feel it is cooler or more flexible with the way it is used here, I don't know if anyone get me or feel the same way and understand what I am trying to say. And it even makes me confused on what pathways they fall under sometimes then these so called boons made it more confusing for me. Sometimes I barely remember all 22 and now we add boons. The author really tried, I just wonder how many times he would get lost in his story😊

Yes, book 1 seems to have straightforward powers, while COI so far seems to have way more abstract powers
