the title 'As An Immortal' is just for show, it was used to show slow and steady pace MC achieved his pace while the world around him changed but after he achieved foundation realm, everything was thrown out the window, there's no difference between him having the power of immortality or not, he keeps racing through cultivation levels even faster than holy sons and divines sons of the tops sects with a stronger and sturdy cultivation base.
doesn't make sense how and why he is rising in cultivation so fast and why he is gaining insights into techniques when struggled with basics for first 200+ years of his life. I get that that he was blessed a little bit by heavenly tribulation during the Blackrock ruins adventure, but it was for specific low-level martial techniques and not higher-level martial techniques and definitely not immortal techniques that use qi.
there is constant face slapping with people lining up and waiting to match his cultivation base or just a bit above his level so he cross levels to kill them.
honestly, I would prefer that other immortal's cultivation novel where MC reincarnates into a jailer of some kingdom and tries to gain cultivation techniques from prisoners and fellow wardens. it came out at the same time as this one but with lower score on comrademao.com, but that site went down and haven't been able to find that MTL since then.

After the BlackRock Ruins Arc (275 - 389) this is just trash.

I don't know what happened or if it's even the same author but bruh. Mc's philosophy change when he reached Foundation level

Everything is good until arround 280 chapter, we got chill smart, and ascetic MC like Hanjue.
But after that it get downhill, author abandon everything and just straight out made MC like generic desperate son of destiny who keep adventures here and there non stop plus sudden nonsense face slap showing up.


Disappointment and my day is ruined.

It become shit after 500/600 chapters just like other typical Chinese Novel.

The fall off of this novel must be studied

It was a decent time waster but it turned "weird" at around chapter 600. It became some low tier sitcom no brain-cell slice of life story.

1st, it was already strange that he is barely learning any forbidden skills at this point, then 2nd, EVERYONE around him suddenly became his subordinate, then the pacing became so bad. From the story having multiple countries and entities as "players" against him and each other, it became some cheap cultivation slapstick almost.

It's just bad.
