    He had a way to make you feel comfortable, to understand you.
    While I'd hate being paranoid, If someone knows me, or makes me "feel" like this, I would suspect them of being a telepath in 0.1 seconds. In a magical world, even a small animal cannot go unsuspected.

      Well, regardless of how one makes you feel, fact checkinhg and logically thinking things through should be what you ought to do.

      Trust has to be earned, and, realistically, verified even if scarcely. If you give someone else the keys to your everything and don't even check what they do with it, don't be surprised the wife cheated on you or your friend betrayed your trust.

      Honestly, I don't see how Petegrew persisted as a friend of the Potters for so long.
