    Chapter 360

Two months passed in the blink of an eye.

Su Hao successfully mastered the remaining two spells: Wind Walk Technique and Wind Bullet.

At this moment, he had teleported to Luzhong Changzhou, where Yashan was staying.

    ---

    Wind Walk Technique!

Su Hao instantly formed three hand seals.

    The spell activated immediately.

His robes fluttered violently as if a fierce gale had suddenly erupted around him.

    Taking a single step—

His figure disappeared from where he stood and drifted over a hundred meters away like a gust of wind.

After circling through the valley once, Su Hao murmured,

"This spell is quite similar to the abilities of the Speed Apostle lineage."

"But it complements Slip Shadow Steps nicely."

    "It improves maneuverability."

The Wind Walk Technique was essentially a movement spell.

By surrounding the body with rapidly flowing air currents, it allowed the caster to become as elusive as the wind itself.

With only the slightest guidance, one could glide away effortlessly.

For Qi Induction cultivators who couldn't yet fly, it was an excellent life-saving technique.

    ---

Su Hao raised his right hand again.

Three hand seals flashed into existence.

He extended a finger toward the distance.

    Wind Bullet!

A streak of white light burst from his fingertip.

It slammed into the trunk of a giant tree.

    Boom!

    The entire trunk exploded apart.

    Su Hao smiled.

    "Not bad."

"The projectile is only slightly slower than a handgun bullet."

Although called Wind Bullet, it wasn't actually composed of wind.

It was a highly compressed projectile of spiritual power that detonated violently upon impact.

Its destructive force was roughly comparable to Su Hao's Ten Explosions rune.

    ---

    Of the three spells...

Only the Wind Spirit Shield truly interested Su Hao.

    After all...

He firmly believed that one could never have too many defensive abilities.

As for Wind Walk Technique and Wind Bullet...

He already possessed far stronger alternatives.

Was Wind Walk faster than Blink?

    Not even close.

Blink could carry him thousands of meters instantly.

Was Wind Bullet stronger than Thousand Explosions?

    Hardly.

If necessary, he could simply use Two Thousand Explosions instead.

    And now...

He could even activate it using spiritual power.

    ---

So far, however, Su Hao hadn't dared test anything stronger than One Hundred Explosions.

The largest experiment he'd performed recently was merely Fifty Explosions.

    Even then...

Its destructive power had already approached that of a small nuclear weapon.

    As for One Hundred Explosions...

    Or even...

    One Thousand Explosions...

Even Su Hao himself didn't know how terrifying the result would be.

    Hopefully...

The powerful cultivators of this world would never force him to find out.

    Otherwise...

He wouldn't mind dropping a One Thousand Explosions rune in front of them before Blinking away.

    ---

Once the testing ended, Yashan hurried over excitedly.

    "Boss Wei!"

    "Was that an immortal spell?"

    "It looked incredible!"

Ignoring the question for the moment, Su Hao suddenly remembered something else.

"How much of the basic rune manual I gave you last month have you memorized?"

    Yashan's expression instantly collapsed.

    With lifeless eyes, he sighed.

    "Boss Wei..."

"For some reason my brain has become incredibly slow."

    "My memory is terrible."

"I've tried every scientific method I know."

    "Memory palaces."

    "Association techniques."

    "Chunking."

    "None of them work."

As he spoke, he pulled a worn, dog-eared rune manual from his pocket and began mechanically reciting,

    "'Fundamental Force One'..."

    "'Fundamental Force Two'..."

Then he looked helplessly at Su Hao.

    "It's like this."

    "I memorize everything today..."

    "...sleep one night..."

"...and tomorrow I've forgotten it all."

    ---

    Su Hao slapped his forehead.

    "Yashan."

"Is this seriously how you've been studying?"

"If you can actually memorize anything this way, that would be the miracle."

    Yashan answered with dead eyes,

    "Boss Wei..."

    "I've already tried every method."

    "My brain is simply hopeless."

"So it doesn't really matter which method I use."

Su Hao looked at him speechlessly.

"Your brain doesn't look broken to me."

    Yashan sighed.

"Only the owner knows whether his own brain works."

    ---

After thinking for a moment, Su Hao said,

    "Fine."

"In a few days I'll send you a Prophet serum."

    "We'll improve your brain first."

    "At your current learning speed..."

"...mastering runes is going to be nearly impossible."

    Immediately, Yashan's eyes lit up.

    "Thank you, Boss Wei!"

"My brain really does need an upgrade."

    ---

Looking at the battered rune manual in Yashan's hand, Su Hao frowned.

After weighing the options, he suddenly said,

    "Yashan."

    "I'll give you a computer."

    Yashan froze.

    "A... computer?"

    "Boss Wei..."

    "You actually have one?"

This was a primitive cultivation world.

Where could a computer possibly come from?

Did Boss Wei actually build one by hand?

The thought alone made Yashan suck in a breath of cold air.

His admiration for Boss Wei climbed even higher.

    ---

    Su Hao shook his head.

    "Not the kind you're imagining."

"But I can implant a miniature computer directly into your brain."

"It'll generate a system interface that only you can see."

    "It'll handle simple calculations."

    "Store data."

    "And most importantly..."

"I can import rune libraries into it."

"You'll be able to study runes anytime without carrying this book around."

    Yashan's eyes nearly popped out.

"Isn't that basically the AI systems from science-fiction novels?"

    Su Hao nodded.

"You can think of it that way."

    ---

Yashan nearly jumped into the air.

    "Damn!"

"I thought things like that only existed in fiction!"

"I never imagined Boss Wei could actually create one!"

    "Boss Wei..."

    "You're incredible!"

"This is the legendary cheat system!"

"You have to be a god!"

"Otherwise how could anyone possibly be this amazing?"

    "Boss Wei..."

    "What's your divine title?"

    "Tell me."

"I'll spread your holy name throughout the world!"

    ---

    Su Hao laughed.

    "I'm not a god."

    "At least..."

    "Not yet."

    "Perhaps after countless years..."

    "I might eventually become one."

    "Besides..."

"No one has actually defined what a 'god' is."

    ---

    Yashan's eyes burned with excitement.

    "If nobody has defined it..."

"Then why don't you define it yourself?"

"If you become the one who defines what a god is..."

"...wouldn't I become the assistant to the very first god?"

    "That sounds incredible!"

    ---

Su Hao quietly looked up at the endless sea of stars overhead.

    His voice became unusually soft.

    "Yashan."

    "Godhood..."

    "...is still very far away."

    "Right now..."

"I can't even leave this planet."

    ---

Hearing those words, Yashan also looked up.

The brilliant river of stars stretched endlessly across the night sky.

A broad smile slowly appeared on his face.

    "Boss Wei."

"I'll handle all the insignificant work for you."

    "I'll keep doing it..."

"...until the day you define what a god truly is."

Only now did Yashan finally understand Boss Wei's true pursuit.

    It wasn't wealth.

    Nor power.

    Nor immortality.

    It was...

    The boundless universe itself.

"I've never understood what Boss Wei was truly chasing..."

    "Now I finally know why."

"Because no matter how hard I imagined..."

"My vision was always far smaller than his."

He turned to look beside him.

Standing there was the familiar figure of Boss Wei.

    Yet at this moment...

It felt as though the endless starry sky itself was contained within that ordinary-looking body.

    For an instant...

Boss Wei seemed even more mysterious than the heavens above.

    Neither of them spoke.

They simply stood together beneath the night sky.

The countless stars reflected silently in their eyes.

It almost felt as though their souls had already begun wandering among those distant galaxies.

    Perhaps...

    This was a man's romance.

    ---

Su Hao was the first to return to reality.

    He waved casually.

    "That's enough for tonight."

    "In a few days..."

    "I'll replace your brain..."

    "...and install your computer."

    With that—

He vanished from where he stood.

Teleporting directly back to his room inside Yunzhong Wangyue Valley.

    ---

    Yashan remained standing there.

He stared blankly at the empty spot where Su Hao had disappeared.

    Slowly...

    He clenched his fist.

"I have to help Boss Wei."

    "I absolutely have to."

He pulled the battered rune manual back out.

Once again he began mechanically reciting,

    "'Fundamental Force One...'"

    "'Fundamental Force Two...'"

No one could stop him from working hard.

    No one.

Even if he forgot everything tomorrow...

    So what?

He would simply memorize it all again.

Yashan had already made up his mind.

    No matter what...

He would keep moving forward until he could finally stand beside Boss Wei.

Bro hasn't it been reinforced enough that the mc only cares for learning things? He cares equally as little as he does towards females as he does to males. He cares slightly more about Yashan because he's useful, not a friend or love interest. If he did get a female it'd just be the authors diversity efforts + more useful assistants + maybe to help Yashan if he somehow gets lonely D:

I get that the dude doesn't care about it... I was answering to the possibility of this turning "yaoi". I understand, there's "not interested to start anyothing cause I'm busy" and there's "I'm not interested nor biologically inclined for anything to happen". I do hope it's the first case and he hasn't found a worthy female yet.
