    Chapter 270

A tremendous force struck Su Hao's forehead without warning.

His small body was hurled backward before crashing heavily onto the ground.

The surrounding pedestrians froze in confusion.

No one understood what had just happened.

Some merely stared blankly, while those with sharper instincts quietly turned around and hurried away, sensing that something dangerous had occurred.

Over a kilometer away, inside a concealed sniper position, the sniper peered through his scope.

Seeing Su Hao collapse, a satisfied smile spread across his face.

    "Nice shot."

The spotter beside him casually lowered his binoculars and spoke into his communicator.

"Team Zhiniao reporting. Target eliminated. Mission complete."

    He patted the sniper's shoulder.

    "Let's go. Job's done."

The sniper proudly slung the rifle onto his shoulder.

"People keep exaggerating how terrifying summoners are."

"In the end, it's just a squeeze of the trigger."

    "Bang."

    "And they're dead."

    The spotter chuckled.

"That's because you caught him off guard."

"If a summoner were the one trying to assassinate you instead, you wouldn't even know how you died."

The sniper curled his lip dismissively.

    "Hmph."

    "They're overrated."

    ---

    Inside the Summoner Association headquarters.

    Outside Pan Fengxuan's office.

The thick-browed man in the suit respectfully reported,

    "Boss."

    "The assignment has been completed."

    Pan Fengxuan merely nodded.

Without saying another word, he casually waved his hand.

    The suited man quietly withdrew.

    ---

    Meanwhile...

The bullet embedded in Su Hao's forehead had only peeled away a layer of skin.

Beneath it, a metallic sheen quietly emerged.

Ever since obtaining the Steel Armor sequence, Su Hao had permanently maintained Steel Armor, Second-Level Hardening, and Second-Level Deflection around his brain.

Ordinary firearms simply couldn't penetrate his skull.

The moment he confirmed the sniper's location through his radar...

The torn flesh on his forehead rapidly regenerated.

Within seconds, not even a scar remained.

He casually wiped away the blood with his sleeve before standing up as though nothing had happened.

Avoiding the surrounding surveillance cameras, he stepped into a blind spot.

The ground beneath his feet instantly transformed into flowing steel.

His body slowly sank underground until he completely disappeared.

As he rapidly traveled beneath the city, an icy killing intent quietly surfaced in his eyes.

    Pan Fengxuan...

    Had made the first move.

This was the first time since obtaining the Perception Rune that someone had seized the initiative against him.

    Thinking back carefully...

Every previous battle had been initiated by himself.

    This time...

The situation had been completely reversed.

While moving underground at high speed, Su Hao calmly analyzed the reason.

It wasn't because his strength was lacking.

    It was because of information.

In this world, he possessed overwhelming power capable of eliminating almost anyone.

    Likewise...

This world possessed weapons powerful enough to kill him if given the opportunity.

Whoever possessed superior information naturally gained the initiative.

    The second reason...

    Was the Morning Sun Courtyard.

Out of gratitude toward Sister Bai and the others, Su Hao had deliberately kept a relatively low profile over the past several years.

He didn't want trouble to spread to them.

    Because of that...

His actions had inevitably become more restrained.

Now that he had begun targeting the Summoned Beast Custodial Bureau, conflict had become unavoidable.

After reviewing his entire plan, Su Hao realized that there had never been any flaw.

    Only one unavoidable contradiction.

The moment Bai Jingzhong displayed sufficient value...

Every major faction in the world would begin paying attention to him.

    And once that happened...

The Morning Sun Courtyard would inevitably become involved.

He could certainly have chosen another path.

    For example...

Using another identity, joining the Custodial Bureau as a research genius, placing the Morning Sun Courtyard under its protection, and slowly climbing upward.

    It would have been safe.

But that path also had obvious problems.

The Custodial Bureau was fundamentally controlled by the Ten Great Families.

An outsider like him would inevitably become someone else's tool.

    Besides...

Why should they trust a suddenly appearing genius?

    More importantly...

    Su Hao disliked restraints.

He preferred conducting research entirely according to his own rhythm.

    Freedom.

That was something he would never compromise on.

    His gaze gradually became resolute.

"I can't delay this any longer."

    "Once this tournament is over..."

"Yashan and I will leave the Morning Sun Courtyard."

    Strictly speaking...

Neither Bai Jingzhong nor Bai Jingyi originally belonged there.

According to fate, the two of them should have been kidnapped by traffickers years ago.

Thinking this through, Su Hao accelerated.

Before long, he arrived beneath the alley where the two assassins were walking.

Just as they turned into the narrow passage...

The ground suddenly rippled like water.

    "What the—"

Before either of them could react...

Steel surged upward from beneath their feet like an enormous wave, instantly wrapping around both men.

They were dragged underground before they could even scream.

    A moment later...

The alley became completely silent again.

There wasn't even the slightest trace that two living people had just disappeared.

Not long afterward, Su Hao slowly emerged from another nearby corner.

As for where he had buried the two assassins...

    He couldn't even remember anymore.

    His next target...

    Was Pan Fengxuan.

Blending naturally into the departing crowd, Su Hao walked calmly through the streets until he stopped before an enormous skyscraper.

    Pan Fengxuan's office...

Was on the one hundred and third floor.

From the outside, the building looked no different from any other skyscraper.

    In reality...

    Its security was terrifying.

Powerful summoned beasts patrolled day and night.

Numerous surveillance systems continuously monitored every corner.

Ordinary elevators only reached the eightieth floor.

Anyone wishing to go higher had to pass multiple layers of identity verification before entering a dedicated elevator.

Both technology and summoned beasts guarded the building against every imaginable assassination method.

Ever since the tower had been constructed...

Not a single successful assassination had ever occurred.

It was publicly known as the safest place in the world.

    Unfortunately...

Its designers had never anticipated someone like Su Hao.

Without hesitation, he transformed the underground soil into flowing steel before quietly diving beneath the building.

    Soon...

    His advance was halted.

Massive steel barriers completely enclosed the underground foundation from every direction.

"The entire foundation has been wrapped in steel..."

    He wasn't surprised.

Although Blood-Flesh Assimilation converted dense materials extremely slowly...

Vitality was the one thing Su Hao never lacked.

Placing a hand against the steel wall, countless vitality cells surged forward.

    Two minutes later...

    A perfectly circular passage appeared.

    He stepped through it.

Successfully entering the building's underground structure.

"The support columns should lead directly upward."

Finding one of the enormous load-bearing pillars, Su Hao quietly hollowed out a narrow passage inside without affecting the building's structural integrity.

    To everyone else...

This tower was an impregnable fortress.

    To Su Hao...

It merely required a little more time.

    ---

    At the same time...

    Inside the security department.

The thick-browed man received an urgent transmission.

    "Dilong."

"We've lost contact with Team Zhiniao."

"Their last confirmed location was an alley."

    "Surveillance shows they entered..."

    "But never came out."

    "We've searched the area."

    "Nothing."

The man's expression immediately became serious.

    "Initiate a Level Two search."

    "Understood."

    He disconnected the call.

Just as he turned toward Pan Fengxuan's office...

The decorative pillar beside him suddenly rippled.

A razor-sharp steel spike shot out instantly.

    Thud!

It pierced directly through his skull.

The bloodstained spike emerged from the back of his head.

    His eyes widened in disbelief.

    Before his body could collapse...

The surrounding steel flowed like liquid, completely enveloping him.

    Within seconds...

His corpse was dragged into the pillar itself.

    Everything returned to perfect silence.

It was as though no one had ever stood there.

    Moments later...

Su Hao calmly stepped out from inside the pillar.

In his hand was the pistol taken from the dead man's holster.

    He checked the magazine.

    Released the safety.

Then quietly pushed open the office door.

Pan Fengxuan sat behind his desk, slowly exhaling a cloud of cigar smoke.

Without even looking up, he spoke casually,

    "Why didn't you knock?"

A cold metal barrel gently pressed against his forehead.

    Pan Fengxuan's pupils instantly contracted.

    Bang!

While I agree there were cleaner ways to do this, it doesn't really matter - MC is on his 4th world (pseudoChina, martial arts, Zhu Huo People, now summoner world) so he has 3 fused power systems. He could probably fight the world at this rate. "Oh, you're going to drop a nuke on me? Turns out I can fly faster than it can land. Oh, you detonate it underground to catch me in the blast radius without needing flight time? That's fine, I can fly faster than the shockwave." At some point schemes are unnecessary.
