It's understandable that Kai had to invoke Asterion's name aloud. He's extremely soft hearted, and hence weak. He'd rather call his enemy for help them see a few people die. Which did help him save those few people but led to a thousand times more people to be either killed or enslaved, and he knew this would have been the outcome yet he committed to the decision. He also gave up a great citadel when it was ill advised. It wasn't betrayal on his part per se, but it's his softness despite everything he's been through that he was the first to show signs of surrender. Kai would make an excellent king during peace times, but under any other circumstances he's just not fit to be in a leading role.

Our Lord Asterion is such a comic, she is making Lady Cassia laugh so that she can be relieved from her unnecessary burden.

Rain will also join the hunger domain soon, so its not that another one bites the dust its more like another drop of water joins the ocean, that is its rightful place.

I genuinely didn't see the reason in preserving longing domain aside from preventing Nephis from being weakened. Which is low priority considering she is with Sunny.

Isn't it better giving up resisting and become Asterion's thrall? It will prevent civil war and fight Mordret's army better. Asterion won't devour humanity immediately, as long as Nephis and Sunny returned before that all that lost to Asterion can be reclaimed.
Mordret and civil war is the real permanent loss.

That's just normal for Heart god lineages. They consume their own tribes like the world tree kept devouring. Asterion, The Terror of L094, the soul devouring tree, the world tree they're all similarly hungry. It's how they keep growing by feeding the endless hunger.

But sadly no it's not his flaw.

There's a good idea going around though, it may have something to do with deals or promises.
