      The issue is that Kai is a righteous being, one who will always aim to help and protect everyone. There is a reason why everyone puts their trust in him as even with a flaw of being able to detect lies, he has never once said a lie either. He really wanted to save everyone even in the cost of making them enthralled, especially since he probably has no clue where Sunny and nephews went when he needed them the most, but knew that they had a goal all along.
