        Fun fact : going to war without a good justification to slaughter people, when you could just stay home is not a proof of one's innocence

          If they just stayed home their enemies would get stronger and come for them later.
          Also did you forget the entire staged assassination on Nephis and the accusations of Valor killing some saint(Dhar? I think). Not to mention Both the sovereigns and their great clans were/are trying to convince their people to go to war.

            If the ennemy win, they have no reason to deal with you if you didn't take part in the war
            Both clan were making HUGE preparations for the war way ahead of the assasination attempt, with going as far as to build one giant road toward valor and nowhere else for no godamn reasons
            And people from what is being said, were mostly not dupe about this war and could see were this was going

              Only the upper echelons of both clans were preparing. Those at the bottom has no idea and thinks that the other side is the antagonist and the sovereign they believe in is righteous. It was already stated several times that those aware of the incoming war was fueling the fire and keeps on agitating the masses.

              Plus, remember that the sovereigns holds genuine power to the point that the moment you become a saint, you needed to choose a side, heck you can't even become a saint without permission. The moment the sovereigns decided that they want war those below have no choice but to follow, so the sovereigns is the source of all this war that's why Sunny and Nephis wants to get rid of them (although Nephis has other reasons too).

              I agree that those participating are not innocent but since the moment the Nightmare spell chose them is there anyone who remains innocent?

              Yeah, everyone wasn't hyped about the war, but it probably felt inevitable to ones who weren't convinced that the war had good reason. Their dictators are going to war and many probably feel forced to participate. Also if they lose, the other villainized clan and its patriotic members are likely to discriminate against people loyal to another clan, not to mention for all they know(for those of valor), the queen of worms could slaughter them use and their corpses for her cause.
              Also being taken over by another clan could be feared by some people due to the fear of changing their rulers to people who they don't know properly.

          There was a justification though, the sovereigns basically forced them by manipulating the masses, plus the choice of not participating if you're an awakened isn't available anymore. Specially after the fall of the House of the Night and the government basically being forced to pick a side. They're not also slaughtering people but fighting a war which means either killing or being killed. If they were genuinely given a choice, I'm pretty sure there would be no war.

            And they clearly had a choice at the end of the day, they just picked a side
            Even the dream saint helping valor once doesn't mean shit at the end of the day, it just means that they chose to help them once for something that wasn't even that important to begin with
            Taking a neutral stance or deciding to help song once too to balance things or to chose to remain neutral would work very well in the end
            Valor would understand their stand and so would song, because they would both understand that they stood nothing from helping a side in particular
            So yeah, they clearly had a choice, and they chose
            But no one was forcing their hands, and it clearly only was about the top members of the governement, not the rest
            Heck, even in song you have a choice, otherwise, rain would have been forcefully conscripted
            And the masses are clearly not buying that shit from what is being said, for a lot of good reasons, so the person voluntering in the war are either going there of their own volutions or a soldiers of a clan

      Shadow lantern isn't a spatial storage memory.

      He can't just throw anything he wants into it. Only shadows or thing small enough to be held in his hands can be put into it.
