    I don't know why the plot and everyone is just conformable with Cassie's ability to spy on sunny against his will and violate his privacy without even him knowing, but I'm not, transcendents or at least people at similar level to Cassie should be able to know or resist her ability somewhat as it is a sort of mental attack

      Sunny stay jumping in people's shadows, listening to people talk from afar, and watching people with both his shadows and his shadow sense without their permission. If it bothers anybody in their world then the only answer is to get strong enough to resist it cause gaining and, just as important, USING OP abilities like that is the nature of ascension. Gods intact their will upon the world without asking for permission after all

        the same as saying, I don't want to be a slave to the system, so I'll live in the forest, build a house out of shit and sticks and pick berries. I mean, you can change your approach to this, knowing that she doesn't use her power over him, knowing that he's nominally her slave by the whim of a spell, and doesn't actually belong to her, knowing that they love each other, knowing that this seemingly limiting connection makes both him and her tens of times stronger and a bunch of other advantages, but still treat it like a curse, because he doesn't understand the meaning of freedom and what freedom is, that's childishness.
