    So the nightmares were just the Subconscious remembering things and the nightmare with the Mad Prince was because he was with Neph, which is his goal, making Sunny almost remember and go crazy; however, thanks to the key of the estuary, the Sin of Solace protected him. Remembering back in the beginning, the specter prevented him from noticing the rune on the raft so Sunny wouldn't remember and at all the important moments he always distracted Sunny or called his attention, kind of warning him that everything is a loop.
