        The transformation doesn’t have to be a beast like one. I’m assuming Sunny can shapeshift into a shadow keep parts of himself incorporeal and corporeal as well as be able to use shadow form more freely. Like he can be in shadow form and not have to worry about direct soul damage every time he gets hit.
