    I feel like all of this could’ve been easily avoided. I mean all Sunny had to do was use the heavenly burden and draw the monster away from him since it seemed more determined to get him than Neph. Then once they were far enough Neph could carve the meat and return then Sunny would come back a few hours later or something.

        I was talking about before the butterfly came. At that point they didn’t encounter any flying abominations and they’ve been on that turtle for weeks. Even if he came back and the butterfly was there it would’ve gotten into a fight with Daeran not go after Sunny because it has to go in the water to eat the meat since it can’t break the shell.

          I mean the Serpent already fought with the turtle and still decided to chase after him, even if the two abominations fought the serpent would still chase after Sunny and Neph

            Exactly, what I’m trying to tell you is that Sunny could easily draw the serpent away while Neph carved the meat then come back when she’s done. In the end it wouldn’t even take more than 1 day for Sunny to fly away drawing the serpent away while Neph does her thing and comes back.

      On a serious note can't he just let one of his shadows reach the turtles neck and step out of it? I mean they just need a surface for it to work and the turtle's neck is a surface as well. Not the writers making stuff hard for characters just for the sake of it

    Why couldn’t Sunny at least try to fly away from the turtle, see if the snake would suddenly follow him, while Nefis could get the turtle’s meat. Dangerous, but at least it's a plan. The butterfly might not have attacked them and they might not have had such a lucky coincidence.
