I hope Mordret got a memory or echo and this amplification of desire is a result of that; kind of like the Midnight Shard but much higher quality.
On a different note though, I don't think the Morgan we have seen so far would lose like this.
But does he know though? There is a really terrifying Imp here... it would be embarrassing if it doesn't do anything haha

I like the desire schpiel ngl (I wish Sunny could say something half as cool but he def wont even though he also wont shut up sigh ) but author is really taking a gamble here cause having Mordret beat his sister with just desire reads like bullshido. This arc is getting too "all we need is the power of friendship" for my liking tbh.

What he’s trying to explain with his speech about desire is that Mordret is not trying to save his own skin when wanting to kill his sister. Morgan wants to survive this battle and imprison him as well while Mordret doesn’t care about anything but killing her right now so he’s willing to endure life threatening injuries just to kill her even if it ends up killing him. He’s willing to give everything up to kill her whilst Morgan is not willing to give up everything to kill him so if you think about it like that and also the fact that they’re pretty relative in power it makes sense that he ended up winning even though Morgan is better suited for this kinda fight compared to her brother.

And that is so stupid. There is a reason why people protect their body during battle. Even if they don't aim to live, just kill their enemy, with every new gruesome wound their body will accumulate pain which would burden the mind. Their body would run out of blood which would make their moves more sluggish and their consciousness lost. And if they lose limbs? They would lose the most convenient and energy efficient way to attack.

All in all, the more Mordret's body becomes mutilated, the vaster the gap between him and Morgan should grow. To say that he covers it with only his focused desire is pure stupidity.

The power of hope and determination troll7

Pretty bs fight imo, even if Mordret is supremely talented still doesn't make sense why Morgan is so weak. Whatever flows your boat ig author....

Bullshit ass fight, Mordret is only alive because the author can’t write a logical fight and has to invent stupid shit like “desire” to explain why he could beat someone with a combat oriented aspect that was winning against a 3 shadow augmented Sunny a few chapters ago

I feel like it shouldn't matter that they are fighting to the death, from what we've seen of both these characters, Mordret with no reflections, no plan or tricks, just swordsmanship, should not be able to compare at all to Morgan, who is fully geared for 1v1s, her memories, enchantments, aspect, abilities, even her FLAW helps in 1v1s. Merely having intent to kill, even at the cost of his own life, shouldn't bridge that gap, she should out speed and out technique and strength him to the point where he just loses, a strong desire to kill can't bridge that fundamental gap in everything important to a 1v1

You must be sped we literally see sunny kill an opponent who outstats him but it's a problem when mordret does it for some reason. Also mordret here isn't even at 1% of his power, with all 6 reflections he no diffs morgan and sunny both at once.

You are right, Mordret is at his MINIMUM power right now, normally he'd low diff Morgan with all his reflections, but that's the issue, he's fighting a 1v1 specialist like Morgan without his main ability, he's completely outclassed by Morgan in pure 1v1 ability, in speed and technique, I mean even her flaw helps her in 1v1s, its her whole gimmick, and yet she's losing?? It's just odd that g3 made the deciding factor "desire" after using this arc to set Morgan up as a formidable 1v1 sword fighter. Also Sunny beat Caster cause he controlled the fight and forced Caster to make predictable moves, and even then he only won that because Caster died of old age since Sunny snatched his pendent because he studied Caster beforehand and knew his Flaw.

Its weird but that's besides the point, morgan is just mentally weak as shown. Also caster one was contextual, but sunny beat ascended as an awakened who outstat him, thats just one of the examples on top of my head

Even saint struggling against one reflection doesn't make sense. She is a transcendent devil who could fight above her rank, while the reflection is simply a beast with no intelligence.

Are you dumb? The reflection literally has aspect abilities for your information, that brings their power level much higher than what you actually think it is.

You are the one who is dumb. Even with aspect abilities, G3 made it clear that what makes beasts of higher class dangerous is their intelligence. The reflections are mere beasts, while Saint is an ascended devil...three class above with high intelligence.
We have seen Saint even go against and defeat of higher ranks...so I don't think it's wrong to question why she is struggling against a single reflection

Take into account that every fight saint has shown amazing feats of strength she’s augmented by Sunny’s shadows whilst right now she’s fighting without and shadows boosting her strength

Now this is just disappointing. This is so forced.
I mean pause and reflect. Sunny admitted it that he and Nephis wouldn't defeat that wolf saint even with the synergy of their power by shadow bond. Yet, Mordret who is a pure utility awakened is able to restrain a saint by merely four reflections, while his other two are wreaking havoc on the battlefield. I would have been fine with this, an attributed it to Mordret being far more talented than both Nephis and Sunny, not to mention that I like the dude.
But defeating Morgan with just a sword and while being merely a beast and with no ability to attack, Morgan who sunny lost to despite being a tyrant and augmented by three shadows and even cheating by using shadow manifestation to fight with different weapons, while Morgan only fought with skill, and he still lost...
It just feel so forced and doesn't make sense.

Yeah I guess, Mordret defeating Morgan all by himself that too by only using his raw strength and skill is unacceptable. I mean considering he hype Morgan had it's a bit too easy
