To be fair his growth in personality as shown in previous arc is quite obvious but his growth in leading skills and his intelligence is totally absent in this arc. I know Author is doing this to highlight Nephis and show how pathetic Sunny is compared to her. But he should honestly show them all if he wants to show it.

No? He's just trying to make ends meet. Things were much simpler without politics and Mordret back in central antartica and he could strategically battle his way from one end of the continent to the other. Also he doesn't want to show his leadership skills. He has no need to and it will be detrimental to the whole deceit thing he's getting at by playing the role of government brute. Doesn't mean he's not intelligent and he is scheming up something.

Deception is when you understood everything and acting like you understood nothing. Not when you genuinely doesn't understand anything and acting like you understood nothing.

True. Especially since he was responsible for thousands of mundane humans and had to safely escort them to Falcon Scott.
That should have raised his leadership and strategy skills.
But they immediately left, after he wasn't responsible for others anymore...

Why can't you accept that Sunny likes being in the background as a hidden blade and not in the spotlight. It's a core part of his personality and has nothing to do with either intelligence or capability.

    Quote: Ouroborus
i love this novel but it feels like Sunny hasnt had a concrete plan throughout this entire arc. He has flailed around before in previous arcs too but this one feels completely aimless. Its like hes just going with the flow.

Whats his plan here? He helps Valor and then...? They just up and listen to every one of his requests and decide to help the evacuation? Most probably they will use all their assets to defend/conquer the new citadels, they wont care about civilians. So it doesnt matter if they win this fight and control this one citadel.

I can somewhat predict how this arc will play out though. Neither Valor nor Song will get control of the Tomb of (forgot the name). It will be someone from the main party (Sunny or Neph), Mordred, or maybe even Asterion.

All i want is for the author to write a couple sentences like Neph thinking of ascending to the next rank and controlling the citadel or Sunny thinking the same. I dont get the endgoal and it frustrates me. All they are doing rn is strengthening their future enemies. What happens if they gain Valors trust btw? They still wont be powerful enuf to do anything with that trust, especially if the make Valor strong while trying to gain that trust.

You are somewhat right but i think him not having a plan is not that big of a deal , his plan for the whole antarctica tour was to first prove he isn't fated to follow nephis and do what he wants to but through the last volume we saw it changed to save as many lives as possible that's what he his doing by killing both parties assassins etc. , he is changing his allegiance upon who will benefit his goals , currently going with valor is the best option and once the battle finishes he will surely try to do something that will only align with his goals of evacuation of civilians.

I know that Sunny‘s kinda viewed as the weakest of the three divine aspect holders but personally
I think he’s the most all rounded
He’s capable in both direct combat and stealth as well as basically similarly tenacious as mordret as well as having an additional whole sense, teleportation, and being able to manifest shadows? As well as (with a lot of concentration and essence) create clones of himself
Not to mention his abilities to spy
Personally I quite like his versatility

Also remember he has his Shadows(echoes), so sunny basically has nephis's physical augmentation, mordret's servant creation, teleportation and he also has scouting abilities and flexible battle abilities with shadow manifestation. He is the most well rounded, nephis is fully geared for battle, with healing, buffs and flames. Mordret is basically a support/summoner

I feel like Mordret and Sunny's abilities are very similar. Both of them are about copying others, being stealthy and having powerful summons.

Even their thematics are similar. Both Mirrors and Shadows create "copies" of objects/people. It's just that shadows are created by the lack of light, while mirrors reflect lights.

Even their personalities are very similar.

Honnestly Mordret is just Sunny, with no moral and more experience.

its not that sunny's abilities are weak its the user of the abilities
everyone kinda knows what hes capable of and what kind of abilities he has and he isnt hidden unlike mordret who is perfectly hidden no one knows from when and where he strikes and he has not revealed about what his abilties could be too much and mordret has his own brain and goal instead of sunny who dosent even know what to do and just become some npc dumb guy when hes with nephis whoknows

He's not going to tell them about Mordret? I feel like the government would understand the problem better if they knew a third party is instigating the problem. For example... what happens if they don't respect his chaos properly? Will he create a worse scenario where even more people have to die?

You are right at least sunny has found his allegiance with government and more importantly the humanity
This might as well someday lead him to stand in nephis way when both great clans are dealt with

He might not support her, but Sunny can never go against Nephis...she got him where she wants.

The end goal is the dismantling of Valor and Song. Nephis can't stay on the sidelines otherwise they catch on. So now Nephis is sleeping with the enemy to gain trust and eventually dismantle Valor after they defeat Song. Sunny's just hanging in there which won't sit right with a lot of people considering his constant tenacity and planning in the Antarctic Center arc but I don't mind him acting as a bit of a drifter here.
