    I always thought Sunny would be an assassin using daggers when he got his aspect. Was disappointed when he became a basic sword fighter until today.

      If you have understand well the novel. g3 had implamented a lot of realism in the fights he describe, he had studied a lot of history combat technique and give his story the realism about real fight with medieval weapon (not talking about the Nightmare Creature)... So no useless reverse grip, no sword on the back, no dagger in fight etc... Dagger wil be litteraly useless in a real fight and are only usefull in stealth way... So, Sunny is a swordsman in first because it's the most adaptable weapon.

        Not really a spoiler but g3 describes in a later chapter that a battle of awakened was purely chaotic with not a lot of reasoning. I believe that aspects hold much more influence and can make it so that a weapon matters less in combat.

          He describe the fights as chaotic in the point of view of mundane human... A fight from surhuman people can't be describe very clearly (imagine ultra speed and strong people fighting in real life.) Awaneked still use medieval technique like nephis olding the blade of her sword in a Mordhau style or Sunny using a stiletto and a short sword. Better yet Sunny never use more than 1 big weapon in his human form because holding 2 sword in real life will not really be effective. But one little dagger and a small tachi or a leaf sword can do a super job... (Sunny use 2 big weapon max as a shadow spawn because he have 4 arms, wich is a super cool detail). Aspect are a fantasy effect like magic wich can't really be predicted but anticipated, so in a way it can work... But unless you turn invisible or something like that, using only a dagger in a direct fight would be useless and even suscid like. Throwing a dagger or a kunai nowadays is ultra effective wich is why sunny in Forgoten Shore have surprised a lot of people and nightmare creature... I'm not a medieval fantasy fight expert but as a writter myself (who love immersiv masterpiece work) i got to read a lot of historical article about medieval fighting style and i saw a lot of video that debunk all fantasy work... Go check "SellsSword" on youtube they are really good... If you don't understand my point continue too explain me your's so i understand it.

            I have zero knowledge on weapons but that channel is pretty cool. What I'm trying to say is what makes Sunny truly powerful is his Divine Aspect and that weapon types/realism become less useful as he progresses. I feel like Sunny can any weapon type with success using his wit and aspect which is why I thought he would be fine using daggers.

    Imagine the terror of clan Valor lackeys realizing the myth of Mongrel was not only real (to an extent), but that Mongrel had also dubbed them a threat to humanity and would deal with them as such. I’m not sure what the equivalent would be for us, but I love the concept
