        why can't a mob character conquer a nightmare and become a saint.. im pretty sure there are few or maybe none on the saint ranks that had divine aspect either, so it is not requirement...
        and from what mc experienced on the 2nd nightmare and his observation that all the challenger has to do is to change fate to get high rewards, it shows that combat is not a major requirement either.. it would probably still be a great help but im pretty sure there will be few seeds who has a daemon or gods on it, so it might not be so difficult..

        anyways i am just grasping for straws here, but its possible that there maybe others who got unconscious like him.. plus if author wants him dead, he could just outright kill him which was what i was expecting tbh

          Finally, someone who side with me. 😂 Neph challenged her nightmare as a sleeper while Quentin is already an awakener, so even if there's a gap skillwise, it is shortened by attributes. Also, the nightmare that made the mc faced which made it dangerous is because it involves a lot of Saints as well because it's related to daemons as long as Quentin isn't too unlucky, he'll just have a regular nightmare. If he is with a group, his chance of survival becomes higher since he is the healer so he will always be prioritised.

        But neph challenged the nightmare as a sleeper while Quentin is already an awakener. Also, he may not be alone in the nightmare. When in a group, the rule is prioritise in protecting the healer.

          Those are a lot of IF's

          Neph was a sleeper indeed, but she still would have beaten quetin in a fight

          You can't compare a legacy sleeper from the forgotten shore with a divine aspect and a lot of powerfull memories to a regular awakened

          And even IF he found a team, you really think that's enough? Even sunny and his team needed preperations
          So a random composed team with 0 prep and weaker teammates don't have the odds in their favour...

          Also i don't believe the healer rule would apply in the 2nd nightmare, since it was mentioned that the biggest threat were your "allies" if im not wrong

          Besides that's too much for a side character with no relevance to the story to survive those odds
