    I'm sorry, but I just want to bring up a line of thought I've had for a while. The Carapace Demon from the Forgotten Shore was an absolute menace. That thing was an Awakened Demon – something that Sunny could blink out of existence now – and it survived not one but TWO battles against the horrors of the ocean. The thing that whispered to Sunny on the tree is the first and only abomination so far that we've seen doing that, suggesting that it was at the unimaginably low ball estimate of a fallen devil with a unique ability that we haven't seen since but far more likely a corrupted devil or stronger. That is WILD. The Carapace Demon not only survived those encounters but also forced them away from the Soul Devourer 'winning' those exchanges. If Sunny had gotten that thing as a shadow it would have been on timing 24/7.

      I think that the carapace demon was buffed by the tree which seemed to be a corrupted terror at least. Or the sea itself was weakened by the artificial sun even though it was night
