          no time to prepare, wind aspects wouldn't be strong enough to send it to the leeches because obviously that many flying things creates SOME wind. and then even if they had something like that, the poison would be too diluted.

      Normal weapons or poisons don't work on the awakened, you would need s poisonous memory like bitter cusp and that's liquid, plus you would need abilities like sky tide's to spread the poison throughout such a large swarm, alot of very specific requirements for that to work
