    Dude literally could've dismissed saint and then used sin of solace augmented with shadows to break the sphere and used one of his shadows to shadow step back but instead chose to wait and observe these bugs despite knowing that they are easily tearing a transcended memory

    Like... really? The author truly forced this...
    He could have got a luminous Memory, he could have used the enchantments (ESPECIALLY the toxic one from the Wormvine that killed the Tyrant last time), he could have ordered Saint to do that... while being away from the heart/egg... but no, the author sure like to dumb the characters to fit the story

        You read and experience about numerous creatures and situations that perfectly fits the 'nightmare' word and suddendly, you decide to believe that both the world and fate weren't trying to get his damned existance erased as fast as possible? Within a sealed place that just happened to be composed of the EXACT element/attribute that perfectly counter his [Shadow]?
        He had multiple ways of avoiding a possible 'if', but didn't even consider a possible trap. That's ridiculous if you consider how smart and cautious our MC is.
        The author could have added, instead, a twist on this; like anything linked to the attacker triggers this, or making use of light triggers that... whatever :v

        Like I said back then, the author forced this 'accident' and his sudden 'lack of caution'.
        Unfortunately, like in every work that makes use of 'fate' as plot device, it is something that we need to accept and ignore as we read.

          Again this is a perfect case of omniscient readers viewpoint. How would HE have known that this exact scenario was going to happen. You can’t say that he wasn’t on guard because he was and he took the necessary precautions to avoid a large majority of negative outcomes.

    I think Saint is communicating with him. But because she has no voice of her own, she uses his. Maybe the sword does something with that. She’s probably the one that said “fool.”
