    I think he should have saved one or two coins so that when it is nearing saturation he can go and sacrifice them to saturate completely otherwise if he saturated them in a dangerous place then it will be the end of him. Unless spell can delay the effects like it did first time.

    I mean sunny really sounds stupid when he wants to become an ascended to outperform neph. I mean it is easier to saturate his core at lower ranks and that is the reason why she is leaving him in dust. She gets 1 fragment for dormant. 2 for awakened, 4 for fallen, and so on while he gets none from dormant. See simple math

      Not that is a main problem. He wants to cover gap in power, not in rank. Rank doesnt gives him or Neph so much. But also Nephs aspect allows her not only get energy from soul shards, but also from just killing monsters. She gets part of their own soul essence when killing. She will grow faster anyway. So he need to become Ascendant to be stronger then just Awakened

      Neph uses soul essence while Sunny uses shadow essence, the system for soul essence does not matches to shadow one so I guess there's that. Neph can just use the soul fragments but Sunny gets fragments per kill.

        And my point was never about who got what for what they kill. My point was if Sunny gets stronger he will need stronger enemies to kill to get new cores and gues what stronger nightmare creatures are way less than weaker ones. And also did I mention stronger enimies are harder to kill?

          Don't take it as complaint it's genuinely exciting spoiler thank you i am not even being sarcastic I was loosing motivation to read because of how subserivent sunny is and how seems to be forgiving cassie so I'll hold on because I don't hate power system it's very refined even if in some places it's a little streched (like how nephis killed what was that in crimson terror fallen terror as dormant demon) but i heard it gets better and can you spoil me when he surpass nephis like firmly from where he is always the stronger one(not in personality because that's not happening)

      Agreed but from his perspective if by off chance nephis tries to exert her will on him he'll have more chance if he is stronger as he said it's hard to keep a unwilling slave specially one stronger than you under yourself there will always be ways to twist the words

      True but from meta perspective, author would either have to devise encounters around being weaker longer as he farms or have a farming montage.
