    nahh surely with how prestigious that school is described to be, those instructors would be some half decent awakened, they just hid in the gymnasium like a bunch of wusses.

    He had the worst possible choice of killing the monsters right outside the gate. If he needed to gain time, he could just protect himself closer to the gym where the children are. He would wear himself out much less.

      The gate is more defensible though as its a natural choke point.
      If he went to the school instead, he'd be assaulted from all sides as these things tear through walls easy.

    Honestly I was expecting so much "gritted his teeth" I'm actually happy author stopped spamming it or else Sunny would have no more teeth; Weaver's bone or not.

    Gate Guardian arriving means this gate is nearing it's end and Mongrel will cement his glory of pretty much soloing this crisis as the protector, propelling his fame to never before seen heights.
