It was dark and empty, arranged in the shape of a heptagon, with seven corners drowning in deep shadows.

There were seven mirrors standing at each of the seven walls of the room, pointed at its center.

There was nothing there.

…However, in each of the seven mirrors, a figure of a young man reflected, sitting on the stone floor with his hands chained behind his back.

  I have no idea how far along you are, but Mordret basically lacks any sense of empathy or compassion; Clan Valor ended up fragmenting him when he was younger and he lost 5 out of the 7 parts of himself. The only other shard is hidden away, and that’s the “be nice” shard basically, which is incapable of even having ill will in self defense. Beyond having a clear cut goal of exterminating Valor, he is literally not capable of seeing people as anything but tools or obstacles. There are some artistic liberties there, as he still gets murderous rage and has his moments of happiness, as stated in the end it this chapter, but he only “likes” Sunny for the information and general assistance (willingly or otherwise) that he provides. At most, he just doesn’t want to deal with the hassle of killing him since he’s not a direct obstacle. Any feelings towards Sunny are situational. Even if you already know this, hope somebody who has the same questions had something answered lol

    Just a small correction here, it's not Valor that broke Mordret, He's flaw split him in 7 portion and the "mad" Mordret killed the others except the "be good" because it'sthe one that inhereited the Death of the 7 Mordret
