'One day, I will become powerful enough to destroy that tree, these monsters, and anyone else who would dare to stand in my way. One day, I will become powerful enough to never be afraid again, of anyone or anything. Instead, all of them will fear me!'

So judging from Cassie's reaction at the end, I'm assuming her visions/prophecy can be passively updated on the fly, where telling others can change the outcome. Hence after MC's ending thought, she suddenly gave him a dark expression. She could be seeing many many different outcomes and planning like some mastermind...

However, a moment later, he was already lying on the ground, the tip of the silver sword pressed against his throat. Changing Star was standing above him, pale lights burning in her eyes.

Thats bullshit. During all the fighting scenes he could follow her movements and fought on par with her against those scavengers and the devil, but now all of a sudden, he can’t even hold on for a second??

Also, he should just kill them two bitches, that changing bitch is a potential danger, and that blind bitch is just annoying af.

He never fought on par with her. He coordinated with her to fight the scavengers. She would be bait and he would strike them down. He never fought on her level.

You also seem to forget that Cassie is the reason he is escaping and that they're both under the tree's influence. Nephis is a trustworthy ally who has helped him and is also his teacher in combat. During the fight scenes he only assisted her. Never fought on her level. Their teamwork grew to the point where they can understand what to do while fighting together. Completely different in this case where they're going against each other.

Cause they're useful and trustworthy. Shifty was a scumbag that wanted to get rid of him. Scholar was a criminal that wanted to see how useful he would be and Hero is a slaver who wanted to use him to survive. One he cant kill Nephis who is leagues ahead of him. He could kill Cassie but she was the reason why he even broke out of the spell. He owes them all. Even if he did kill Cassie, Nephis would slaughter him for that.

I can only imagine how some of you would be in these stories. Acting like a psychopath after everyone telling you the dreams are not possible to complete without a group. Most of you would have died in the first dream.

Like the police scene described, the first nightmare is a solo test unique to every individual and you should think of the people as illusions not real people. The actual Dream however is a shared experience with real people. So while he could become a murderer inside the Dream, the first Nightmare should not be compared.
