    Caster that legacy speedster from the academy... There are so many "what if" and "maybe" reasons for the tax, gangs, group falling out, to who knows what... This is why I dislike unnecessary random time skips when it's not needed. Time skips are appreciated when it's for uneventful repetitive situations, like secluded training, not when it comes to the story development of the MC that we are supposed to be following. Here it's just used to create a random jump for easy change of plot. Author can do whatever they want, it's their novel, but this is my take on this seemingly weirdly paced and random time skip.
