        What's wrong with him winning a battle with poison? Even though he isnt leveling his main class coming out on top with a effective weapon he develops(poison) makes perfect sense. It's not dumb in any way. Developing a poison is just like developing a sword. Developing a poison is just developing a weapon and of course a good weapon will increase his strength just as much as increasing the level of his main classes skills. Just like in real life having a better quality gun can increase your strength in a gun fight but being more skilled with a gun can also make you stronger in a gun fight. It's not that anything he does is the best course of action. It's simple logic that weapons increase strength and so developing a poison isnt a bad course of action.
