Chapter 548: Vacation's Over |
Kyle took a deep breath of Yin-Fire as he relaxed for the first time in a long while.
'I have comprehended seven of the ten Fragments of the Body,' he thought. 'Only three more to go, but I don't think I can train these in here.'
'The Fragment of Size is not related to outside adversity. The Yin-Fire won't make a difference.'
'The Fragment of Speed just needs training in running. Running around in here might accidentally kill me.'
'The Fragment of Nerves requires training in quick decision-making and reaction. I need something that actually attacks me to train that.'
Kyle looked around the sea of blue fire as he scratched the back of his head.
'I think I should focus on the Yin-Fire. I mean, that's why I originally came here, right?'
For once, Kyle put his hammer away and just looked at the fire around him.
As he watched, he realized that many of its concepts seemed obvious.
The concepts of Yin-Fire turned into math again, and whenever Kyle tried to unravel them, his instincts gave him educated guesses as to what the result would be.
The guesses were not spot-on, but they were almost always pretty close to the actual result.
Kyle had already comprehended the Fragment of Yin-Fire Composition before he started focusing on his body.
Knowing the composition of an Element made it easier to understand the other Fragments related to it.
Kyle had been subject to the forces of Yin-Fire for many years now, and he had gotten accustomed to it.
First, he focused on the Fragment of Yin-Fire's Heat, which actually just dictated the lack of heat.
It would be more fitting to call it the Fragment of Yin-Fire's Cold, but then the naming convention wouldn't fit anymore.
Comprehending the Fragment of Yin-Fire's Cold was pretty easy and only took Kyle three years or so.
Next, he focused on the Fragment of Yin-Fire's Expansion.
There was a lot of Yin-Fire around, and its power spread across great distances.
Kyle just traveled back and forth inside the pillar of Yin-Fire as he looked at how a bit of Yin-Fire affected its surroundings.
This also only took Kyle something like three years to comprehend.
This was far faster than the time he had needed to comprehend the individual Fragments of Yin-Metal.
Just by being exposed to the Element for such a long time, Kyle's speed of comprehension had increased tremendously. When Kyle focused on the Fragment of Yin-Fire's Focus, he just went deeper inside.
He knew more about Yin-Fire by now, which meant his body had a greater resistance to it.
He could even travel into the massive hole the Yin-Fire came out of.
Naturally, Kyle didn't forget to be careful not to damage the Law Well.
After just a couple more years, Kyle comprehended the Fragment of Yin-Fire's Focus.
'Now, I'm only missing the Base Fragment,' Kyle thought. 'And as far as I can see, it's this unique power of Yin-Fire that penetrates deep into my bones. It's like it can affect the inside of my body while ignoring the outside.'
As Kyle focused on the Base Fragment, he realized that his speed in comprehension was even faster than he had expected.
The power represented by Yin-Fire's Base Fragment was the very thing that allowed him to train his bones and muscles so well.
It had even helped him in training his metabolism.
His entire body was already intimately familiar with the penetrating cold of the Yin-Fire, and it had adapted accordingly.
The insights kept flowing into Kyle's mind.
He comprehended the Fragment without any issues within just 15 years.
It had taken Kyle 50 years to comprehend the Base Fragment of Yin-Metal.
Yet, this one only took 15 years.
Kyle closed his eyes with a smile as he gathered all the insights of Yin-Fire.
Everything made so much sense, and Kyle created his overarching concept of how Yin-Fire worked.
He felt that he was close.
Just a little bit of refining here and there and…
BOOOOM!
Kyle felt his mind expand with new knowledge as the secrets of Yin-Fire filled his mind.
'I've got it!' he thought with excitement.
The next moment, he pulled out his hammer and looked at it.
He infused it with Meteor Ether before adding the power of Yin-Metal to the front.
Then, he infused the back of his hammer with the power of Yin-Fire.
'Sadly, I can't combine Yin-Metal and Yin-Fire with my Meteor Ether. Otherwise, my Meteor Ether would lose its balance and power.'
'I can only add some aspects. It's not a great increase in power, but that's also not really the point.'
'Pure Laws are not made for combat. They are just components for the weapons that are Complex Laws.'
'Now, I'm only missing Yin-Wind. If I also get Yin-Wind, I can create a new Complex Law.'
Kyle took a deep breath of Yin-Fire.
'Sadly, I doubt that I can create this Complex Law without going through some True Battles. '
Kyle spun his hammer around a bit in his hands.
There were not many ways he could use Yin-Fire to augment his power, but there were some that would make it a bit useful.
After some experimentation, Kyle left the pillar of Yin-Fire.
As soon as he left, the sandstorm attacked his skin again, but this time, Kyle didn't even get injured.
His body had grown much more powerful.
Kyle put on his armor again and felt that it was much lighter than before.
However, there was an issue.
'My speed still comes from my Law of Meteor, and that hasn't increased in power. The top speed of my Law of Meteor is still superior to my physical speed.'
'Just sucks that I can't really increase my top speed with my physical power.'
Kyle's Meteor Ether was like a car. Using one's legs to push a driving car forward like a skateboard would have… mixed results.
The next moment, Kyle smirked.
'But what it can do is this!'
BANG!
Kyle jumped up with all of his power, the ground around him exploding.
Within an instant, he reached a speed of over 60 kilometers per second.
Then, he activated his Meteor Ether, and it kept accelerating him.
'My physical body might not help with my top speed, but it helps a lot with my acceleration!'
Kyle used to be able to just set his speed to his top speed with his Law of Wind, but that only had a limited effect.
The Ether in the Supreme World was far denser and couldn't be as easily manipulated anymore.
On top of that, Kyle only knew the Level One Law of Wind.
The wind on this planet was far stronger than that.
If he could comprehend more powerful Fragments of Wind, this ability would return.
After reaching the edge of the planet's atmosphere, Kyle looked back.
As he looked at the small blue speck, he felt a bit melancholic.
He felt like he was leaving his home.
"Hey, Wolfmistress. I'm going to leave. How long have I been here?" he asked.
"You have paid 143 Contribution Points," she answered.
Kyle blinked in surprise.
'Brah, I've been here for 143 years!'
Then, he scratched the back of his head.
'But my power also increased by quite a bit.'
A moment later, Kyle looked at his Magic Ring, which immediately activated with a message.
"Instructions for your job are available. Come seek me out after you are done with your current Law Comprehension session."
Message received: 73 years ago.
When Kyle was done reading, another window popped up.
"Reading confirmation has been sent. "
'Ah!' Kyle thought. 'That's how they know that I have seen the message.'
Kyle became a bit nervous.
Would he get in trouble because he hadn't checked his messages in so long?
Naturally, the Magic Ring immediately answered his questions.
"Messages can be sent with different priorities. If immediate action is necessary, a sender with sufficient authority can forcefully activate the device during the user's Law Comprehension session. Messages with peak priority are generally not sent via the device but via a dedicated agent that arrives physically."
'Ah, right. If it's so important, they could've just sent someone to get me.'
'Guess I'm not in trouble.'
'Anyway, I should check with the sender.'
'Seems like my time of comprehending Laws stops for now.'
'Vacation's over! Back to the office!'
Then, Kyle flew towards Orchis.
