Chapter 1177: Since You’ve Started, You Might As Well Finish

The Celestial Fox Demon Emperor, who had been racking his brain in thought, suddenly turned deathly pale. He whipped his head around toward a certain direction, and in the same instant, blood spurted from his mouth. White light surged chaotically around him, and behind him appeared the phantom of a nine-tailed Celestial Fox.

All the other Emperors likewise turned their gaze to the source of the rumble. Bound within the rules of Conquering the Heavens, they could not leave their spots, yet they clearly saw a massive mist of light explode skyward from another side of Council Mountain. And that direction just so happened to be… where the Celestial Fox Sacred Mountain was.

The Celestial Fox Sacred Mountain, made entirely of Fortune Stone, was now exploding.

The Celestial Fox Demon Emperor’s entire power was directly linked to his Sacred Mountain. In an instant, the backlash struck him fiercely.

He had no attention to spare for the battle in the sky. He poured every ounce of strength into suppressing the fortune backlash with his bloodline power. Otherwise, if the Celestial Fox Sacred Mountain collapsed entirely, his clan would be finished—and so would he.

From high above, one could see massive fissures splitting the Sacred Mountain into pieces, dozens of cracks tearing through it, as torrents of fortune energy spewed forth.

Countless members of the Celestial Fox clan rushed out, all pale-faced, with many of the stronger ones heavily wounded. Their souls were tied to fortune, and with the Sacred Mountain wounded, the impact upon them was severe.

The Sunborne and Earthshade Nymph Emperors saw it too, as their vantage point in the air gave them an even clearer view than the others. Their assault on Tang San faltered slightly.

But in that instant of hesitation, Tang San’s pained expression eased. His resistance strengthened.

The two Emperors quickly snapped back to focus, not daring to allow another lapse. They poured their power back in, frenziedly injectining yin and yang energy. To ensure maximum output, they even brought out their divine items.

Though Tang San looked as if he were agonizing, on the brink of collapse, both were shaken to the core.

Even among Emperors, they knew none could possibly endure both their powers at once, let alone draw them into the body.

What was that white vortex? How could it consume ultimate yin and ultimate yang?

By now, they had sustained their full assault for over twenty minutes. Such energy, if unleashed upon Planet Falan itself, would have wrought planetary disaster. Yet Tang San bore it within his small human frame.

With the explosion of the Celestial Fox Sacred Mountain, unease stirred in their hearts. Though they did not command fortune like the Celestial Fox Demon Emperor, even they sensed something was wrong.

Tang San and Xiao Wu’s faces still showed pain, but closer inspection revealed the white currents coiling about them growing denser and stronger. The lightning crawling over their skin never pierced within, only danced at the surface.

Then the Celestial Fox Demon Emperor roared from below, “Stop your attack! He is using your power to temper his body!”

The strain of shouting brought more blood to his lips, his face twisting grotesquely from the fortune backlash.

The warning jolted the two Nymph Emperors. Impossible, they thought at first—but instinctively, they tried to draw back their power.

At that very moment, Tang San’s anguished mask vanished. In its place was a faint smile, and as his eyes snapped open, golden light poured out. Within his gaze shone the radiance of sun and moon together.

“Since you’ve started, you might as well finish!”

His hands swept through the air in an arc. The white vortex at his chest stilled, then burst with overwhelming suction force, locking onto their yin-yang energy so it could not escape.

A wave of terror surged through both Nymph Emperors. He had been feigning it! The agony, the struggle, all an act! How could this be possible?

This was ultimate yin and ultimate yang, their most fearsome force! On the Daemon Continent, either one of them alone was a force few could withstand. Yet Tang San was not merely withstanding both, he was devouring their power! Such a thing lay beyond the comprehension of any Emperor.

Now he had shifted from passively consuming to actively drawing in energy. If they broke off the output, it was their very divine souls that risked being pulled away. What kind of power was this?

Tang San’s face was serene. The vortex of chaos at his chest spun wildly.

In truth, when he first began swallowing their energies, not all his suffering had been pretense. The force of ultimate yin and yang was like a crushing tide, even for him.

But Tang San’s body, reforged after reclaiming his divinity, was far stronger than that of any being of this age. More importantly, he had long cultivated powers of yin and yang, and with the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor as his core, he could still forcefully digest them. Even so, the flood was too great at once, and it had tested his limits.

That was why he triggered the trap he had buried within the Celestial Fox Sacred Mountain—to divert the Emperors’ focus, to give himself a breath, just enough to fully take in the yin-yang power.

Now, as he digested and absorbed, more and more of it was transmuted into chaos energy, nourishing his body. After his tribulation and ascension, his flesh was undergoing a second metamorphosis, elevating once again.

Xiao Wu’s pain came from the Lifebond Necklace, through which Tang San channeled chaos energy into her. Though it pressed heavily upon her, the filtered chaos energy she bore was already purified. It was immense in volume, hard to assimilate, yes, but not dangerous. What she absorbed tempered her body perfectly.

Chaos energy, born at the dawn of a plane, rivaled even the true immortal energy of a divine realm.

The earlier battles had been to strengthen his bloodline imprints and to weaken the Ancestral Court. But this last battle was different. This was the path Tang San had laid out for himself all along: a stepping stone he could use to ascend to greater heights.

Why had he always centered his cultivation around the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor? Why had he kept the chaos core even after breaking into godhood? It was all for this moment.

Restoring his God King power was no easy feat. Even if their transcendent divine items returned, their bodies had to withstand the power of those items before they could even lay hands on them. And the only way to endure was to be strong enough in flesh.

The surest way was to flood themselves with pure energy to temper themselves. By merging ultimate yin and yang and refining it through the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor into chaos energy, he and Xiao Wu could nurture their bodies, reshape themselves into true divine bodies, and step by step reclaim their past cultivation.

For Tang San and Xiao Wu, it was nothing short of the perfect path.

A very chill work by my dude JL. You know the drill: you get hit by truck-kun and end up in a medieval Western world with knights and magic. Except this guy passes out (and away) at a class reunion and ends up in an ancient Chinese world with daoists and the likes. Quite relaxing if you ask me. Does not lack boobs.
