A/N: There are horror element, including Eldritch Horror from Lovecraft. Fan of blood borne, and abominable horrors that goes bump in the night would love it.

Epic action set pieces, and galaxy wide battles, with an extremely overpowered MC who is a one man army.

I actually like these types of comments more, since most of the time, negative comments are more accurate, than positive ones. Naturaly thats not Always the case, but on average it is. To me its more importend to know if the novel is good or not through accurate points than it is through some "this novel is amazing because it is" (or more often just a this part makes it good despite it being almost objectivly bad in that aspekt) ive seen that alot more than the opposite(also if i tryed every novel being rated badly/very good i wouldve likely already tryed most novels on the site), i rarely see it the other way around sure there are examples of novel that are trash that i liked to read, but that doesnt change them being bad. Overall only "true haters" are a problem among the negative ones, which overall are less than the "this is a very good/ top level novel" commenters.

this is a very good/ top level novel

i honestly dont see that specifically in the novels at all, even the popular ones.. mostly just usual praise if somthing good genuinely happen at the chapter..

if u try to look at the less known works.. then only negatives are the most vocal which is just annoying since most of them are biased and more inclined to comment since there is not much comments..

edit: i take it back after browsing for more novels to read.. it is indeed hard to distinguish if the review is genuine on popular ones since i keep thinking that the dude might be just some die hard fan.. best example would be wmw fans calling it a masterpiece

#panic# I don't know where to ask this so I can only come here, I recently lost my data and although I got my ranobes account back, I lost all my novels, I didn't bookmark them but I remember some.

I'm looking for a novel where the MC reincarnates with a system that increases his talent with the increase of his descendants with spirit roots, he is part of a righteous sect that overseas the kingdom he is in, his master is the sect master, a women and he has two disciple sisters both whom are his dao companions. He has over a 100000 mortal descendants and 100 descendants with spirit roots.
    Does anyone know this novel

Here, I was bored and decided to do some systematic research and found this. This is probably the novel you're looking for "Patriarch is Taking Concubines Again!".

    -403 chapters out while posting this;

Okay, I'm writing this in part as a "counterpoint" to the sentiment that the threshold for dropping this novel is chapter 319. I strongly disagree, as the chapter which ought to bring disdain (I'm obviously over-exaggerating) for anyone who's actually paying attention to the novel is chapter 304, which I call - "Family reunion".

    Regardless...

There's a lot of readers who mentioned that the earlier chapters felt a bit confusing. One thing to keep in mind here, is that at the very beginning, some chapters were missing actual text due to how novels are mined/ripped from other sources. But even with botched chapters in the picture, things should have been clear enough if enough attention was paid to the written text. Reading with the brain turned off is not a crime per se as some novels are even meant to be enjoyed like that, but this novel doesn't deserve to be labeled as "confusing" as it's pretty clear on what's going on at the given moment.
For one, I enjoyed the dialogue (for the most part) even if there was quite a discrepancy between the MC's inner thoughts and how he carries/presents himself when interacting with other people. Its another world and the host's (who's a noble in a world with clear class distinctions between people beyond some superficial differences - grounded, in nobles being actual demigods above regular rubble) memory bleeds into the transmigrator without complete takeover or assimilation.
His supposed "stupidity" also gets covered (is accounted for) by
    .
The beginning does well with setting things up followed by a decent payoffs (most of the time) while dragging and hinting some bits of mystery along the way even if there's a lot of nitpick material too.

    The meat:
Is the supposed inner conflict where MC tries to preserve his humanity.
, a lot of MC's actions are held back/justified by him trying to preserve his humanity. The 'humanity' in the story is being described as having reluctance of taking a life and having 'emotional outbursts' (? (that's how it is depicted in story)). Which is weird as an enlightened renaissance humanitarian man was a man of reason and not of short-lived in the moment feelings. Lets not forget, that shortly after transmigrating, the MC became a mass murderer, which made any following moral posturing silly, unnecessary and somewhat forced. Not to forget, that the MC who's trying to be 'human' isn't even an actual human BY ANY STRETCH.
    And going by his
it adds new layers to silliness of the whole ordeal and at that point my suspense of disbelief is completely shattered (not even touching on how MC acted or things unfolded after that point).
The conflict between MC's and his father also seems silly, as both of them essentially strive for the same thing using similar means at the core - lives of others; MC being especially dark/whicked, as he essentially paves his road to power with the souls of others (implication being, that he denies them (his victims) afterlife and salvation/redemption).

This whole text came out more as rant if anything, so be as it may, I wont claim that this novel is a waste of time, but I, for one, felt scammed after reading it as far as I did.

I gave it an honest chance up to chapter 319 which is where I'm dropping it.

I liked the premise of mystery - where it's safe to say something is off, but you don't know what, which is slowly revealed over time. Not only that, but I was hoping to see a main character that makes use of all available resources and his sharp mind to overcome the horror of the new world. Sadly, it's poorly executed. (let me know if you know a story that executes this well)

The plot doesn't feel fluid, the character not alive enough and the MC behaves and thinks inconsistently - also, while I was hoping for some cool reveals I felt rather disappointed at many of the twists. They often have no real foreshadowing - meaning one doesn't have to try to solve the mysteries, same for advancements and power ups.

Also, the whole system-equivalent feels like a crutch to explains things that could have just as easily been described without the repeated character sheet - usually a system only works well if the changes are evident partially predictable, so you can look forward to them, not haphazard.
I had to search through the lengthy character sheet for the difference, only to realize that it was explained afterward anyway - which is why I started skimming the whole system snippets.

This brings me to my main gripe, the writing style and quality feel somewhat amateurish. At first, it's confusing. The already lost reader is lost even further among the poorly strung together plot. This improves so to say, as now everything is explained in a direct manner - thus lacking in mystery and elegance.

I'm not saying this book is super terrible, it's a bit lackluster and there is probably an audience for this, just not me.

This is too stupid, he feels shamed cause people look up to him, author has no Idea what he's typing, Imagine a man who lived most ordinary life suddenly gets respected but he feels shamed. The author made such bogus remarks throughout the chapters and many times he contradicts himself. This mc is much more than a white knight

    4.5/5

I think it is one of the best written novels i have read. The only reason i take of 0,5 points is the confusing first scenario that could be better written and the lack of foreshadowing.

It has no downtime or filler chapters at all. The beginning is a bit confusing but that is because the mc has no idea what is going on himself and keeps encountering scenario's that he has no clue about. The entire first section of the novel so far was about him hating his lack of common knowledge. (That is fixed)

Story progression is the best quality i have ever read. How it is linked with his power progression and world building is amazing. I think only 3 chapters so far were boring. Rest was exciting and you really feel like your knowledge = mc knowledge lvl.

World building is done very well.

Character development is not really that present because there is 0 downtime in the story moving forward but i don't see it as a downside so far because of the way the story is told.

The power system is being explored. It is quite basic but the later chapters make me foresee having multiple different power systems and combining them to become even more op.

I read all available chapters in a weekend...

I said filler chapter and the chapter where this got stated actually progressed the plot even if you count this part as filler.

Second up, this actually is not filler in my opinion it just highlights the importance of this step and gives us some backstory of his past. (I think of filler more like irrelevant side quests)

        Third,
The only reason i take of 0,5 points is the confusing first scenario that could be better written
like i mentioned it could be better written because it uses 3 a 4 sentences to highlight the same thing to show the importance of the moment. The author does that only a few times and i don't mind it because it only happens rarely.

The first scenario is hard to read because it skips details so you feel lost... like when he was an egg that could move his hands... but afterwards you don't feel lost and it becomes a lot better.
