As someone below said the horror isn’t done well. Mutated Tao is way better in terms of h the whole story. The horror, pacing, mc character development, and mysteries.

Of the first 20 chapters 7 of them have nothing to do with the MC at all and in essence could be considered filler. What do the readers know about the MC? Almost nothing. How is the story and how will it maybe play out? Who knows... By chapter 20 it would seem that readers would be racking their brains to try and figure out what this LN will be like and what it might even be about. The only thing that the readers can conclude about by chapter 20 is the the author gave the MC a very physical strong brutish bloodline that ate his Light and Darkness abilities/classes/skills-sets/LAWS and thus the readers are left with a brute that will probably just smash things into meat paste or use a sword to chop things to death.? No one knows because after that bombshell the rest of the chapters were fillers. It is a very odd way to start out a LN by giving the MC Light and Darkness LAWS/abilities/classes/skill-sets to then tell the readers he is just going to take them away from the MC for good by claiming that the STRONGER bloodline killed/ate them because they aren't strong enough. Thus leaving the readers with a brute with no magic/LAWS. That is all you get in the first 20 chapters since 7 of them are fillers thus making it only 13 chapters that are kind of about the MC. The quest at this point is how many readers will end up dropping this LN....

Needs serious refinement!
Dropped due to being unable to stand the authors unnecessary remarks.
"The husband beating wife", especially anoyed me as well as all the "needle sharp" this and that.
I also really dislike the pace and the numerous illogic plot progressions.
I tried to enjoy it, the action scenes and "mystery" is ok but the rest is disappointingly poisonous.

In a word: a mess.

Erratic changes of point of view, horror elements that come together too quickly which is not scary, supernatural elements so bizarre that we have to reread it several times to understand them, so many actions that we have not even time to breathe to understand the worlds surrounding the MC.

Now imagine all the elements I listed and mix them and it will give this novel.

Do I recommend this novel? Only if you aren't too judgemental about an MC making stupid decisions and wasting time/stalling.

I read to chapter 117 and I enjoyed maybe 10 chapters, the rest were annoying to read. I keep going back to this novel because it has such strong world building but the main character and the way it's written really ruin it for me. I will likely come back to it again in the hopes that the MC at least changes as a character further on, but I have zero hope that the intensely descriptive and wordy style of writing will change.

The universe and power system are well developed. The universe has power structures, world-tiers, a creation myth, and historical events that have happened and are still happening as the MC goes through their story. The way beings gain power in this world is meaningfully incorporated into the story and the affects how everything works. It is all very well thought out as well as being quite unique and I think the author deserves some praise for this.

The way it's written is so wordy that it gets annoying. Multiple things in a singular scene are given a paragraph or more of description each, the author loves to give lore dumps and explanations for anything anywhere anytime, characters will also have long trains of thought that take up multiple paragraphs. By the time a chapter is completed it feels like barely anything has happened. As a result the novel sometimes progresses at a snails pace.

The author also likes to be mysterious while being wordy and sometimes it gets confusing or it takes multiple paragraphs to say something that boils down to a simple idea.

The MC is pretty rough. His primary character trait is being emotional and impulsive with a bit of a hero complex thrown in. There is an explanation for this but it doesn't make these 117 chapters any less frustrating to read. Time and time again the MC makes stupid decisions and dawdles around with no sense of urgency. Even if he previously said that time is running out it will not stop him from doing whatever he feels like whenever he wants. He will bring that sentiment into fights, sometimes staring at enemies waiting for them to power up, or perhaps leaving a trump card behind and simply using his hands to fight because it will be more satisfying.

If he could throw all this away and act clever and rational it would result in a way more enjoyable story in my opinion and I wouldn't even mind the wordiness. Instead I'm busy thinking about how stupid the MC is while reading a description for an egg or something and it makes it very difficult to enjoy the novel.

guys I tried first 2 chapter and the writing got me brain dead so did the writing improved or is still the same?
