The Martial Unity by Lord_Streak

I saw that it had good reviews so decided to read it, am now on 600 chapters.

This Novel takes slow paced to a whole nother Level, I'm not against that but it's just to much.
500 chapters in the first realm is ridiculous.
The title might as well just be Martial Mercenary because that's the only thing he does, missions, gets money. That's it. Nothing new to the story just getting familiar with new techniques while doing missions.
In other novels some villain appears or other things that progress some plot or something but that's not the case here....just..... Missions.

The author tries to explain things like techniques in a scientific way but that makes it just more confusing because he mixes logic and science with another world. Some techniques cough cough "flowing air cannon" are basically just running up to someone and punching/kicking him, no need for some complicated explanation that explains their unbelievable power.
The bureaucracy is also crazy in this novel. Always some paper work to sign or something.
The World building is bad, that's it.

So I can't really say that many positive things about the novel, the mc is pretty good, always obsessed with martial arts.

Is there any type of cultivation or power levels in this LN? Or is this a light novel that is just about being a powerful multi striped black belt?

Chapter updates have slowed down?

I remembered liking this novel, and waited for it to have a bunch of chapters to re-read. Now I feel there's so much exposition.

alr this is the first time I put a review on smth so it will be a mess.

first the world building it's not that deep and at the same time although it's not much the author didn't explain it well enough.

the power system is more on the scientific side and ppl even call it relativley "rational" well it's not in my opinin the very simple beginning was not even explained they just have techniques that they use to get more power so what is the source of energy for all this maybe there's more details later but this is not how it should be introduced.

as for the mc again this is smth that idk authors maybe doing just to show a new or not really used side of an mc that doesn't have to be edgy all the time he's too naive to be a reincarnation unless he was an reincarnation of a 6 yo, the author keeps talking about politics but mc doesn't want to middle in all of that but "rationally" as the novel is supposed to be he will be draged into it then he keeps trying to avoid the clash with any higher up he keeps saying he gets theur intention and he's not easy to trick but why would it matter if u give it to them anyway, he refuses to join a faction so he wouldn't lose his freedom while actually the cons of that actually happens if he actually joined a faction he would have a better access to resources in exchange for how he actually treats the ruling system ut may even be better in a way.

side characters disappear once he leaves the academy he's only left with kane.

so yea what really attracts ppl and tbh is fresh about this novel is having more scientific side to it the author realky did his homework with data about matial arts and biology but other than that everything surrounding it is average.

I wrote this out of annoyance because as it looks the author put effort into this and it could have been much better if not for what I mentioned besides stretching the events across more than 1 chapter, I dare say that at this point there are around 1040 translated chapters they could be reduced to around 600 or even less with no damage to the story line or anything relevant.

Reincarnation novel. Slice of life of old soul scientist MMA in martial world.
Slow pace.
Overwhelmed with detail of MMA science.
Not everyone taste.

tl;dr: it's a mixed bag of what you can tolerate.

I can't read this anymore, the people are so modern but the setting is supposed to be medieval. The concepts the author uses are all based on modern ideologies that require modern philosophies that are applied irl. I'm not trying to be semantic here, basically for the concept of a modern college to exist, there needs to be the journey from teaching whoever wants to learn how to read and count inside one classroom to leaving the format of apprenticeship as a society in order to systematically [i][/i]teach young people.

It requires a LONG ass time to develop this societal system and it makes no sense to me how everything is medieval but they have sports equipment.

So one can argue that "they're martial artists!" but we also had martial artists but the concept of sports equipment is relatively new. Again it's not that the story HAS to follow our timeline but it has to be logical and it's just not. Statistics, modern thesis, the author mouths off these concepts as if they take no time to develop and all I'm thinking is "why not just make the world modern??"

If you can turn off that part of your brain then I think this is better than the average xianxia, so far this is wuxia to be clear, but I don't read wuxia too much so I have no point of comparison but that doesn't change the fact that everyone in this world is almost modern but it's not modern and it's just bugging me out.

Can't read it anymore. It's trying to fit "science" in a wuxia world but (so far) it fails. But the author provides a lot of details so again, it's a mix bag of what you can tolerate.

While so far well written, I have a major gripe. (not yet a review) so he's supposed have been reborn in a medieval world. . . wtf does it look like? but that's not it, so he's reborn in a medieval world but he attends what is for all intents and purposes, a modern college with modern concepts. . . .why dafuq didn't the author just made him reborn in a different modern world? It's such a glaring feeling of dis-congruence when it's supposed to be medieval but they even have a mail system for a 14 year old kid getting to school. . . you know now that I mention it, what does primary school look like? You see??! having no primary school makes sense in a medieval world with all the peasants' children working but now their "college" is so modern it only makes sense to be built on a foundation just like ours. dude, phew.

Can anyone tell me what his martial arts power is I kinda stopped when he went o his friends house for the first time
