Absolute Resonance万相之王

The FMC is apparently the MC's parents' disciple - orphaned and brought home one day when MC was still a child and lived together since then. She is somewhat the equivalent of a sister/childhood friend/unrequited love interest of the MC. She's a genius with the highest grade resonance, and has repeatedly trashed the MC in sparrings. And this is where I begin to rant, so follow with me.

First off, MC was previously touted as the greatest genius of the generation before he fell from glory - but then there's the even-more-genius, FMC? Who has repeatedly trumped the MC since they were children? Like what, why even hype the MC then? But this is not where I'm frustrated; the FMC is cold and doesn't see the MC as a man at all, but for some reason the MC is simping all over her.
In general, we can state that the MC is a spineless, ignorant, simp who let's all kinds of women walk all over him. They trash talk him, patronize him, and don't see him as a man at all, even though he is 17, and they are, themselves, only a couple of years older. And this MC just nods and smiles all day long while he continues to ingratiatr himself and simp for them. My honest opinion is that I feel that its sickening to read. Have some backbone at least!

The FMC is engaged to the MC, which she did of her own volition when she was 11 (iirc), as a show of gratitude. Gratitude? Is there anything more condescending? She doesn't love the MC at all, but sees him something of a little brother that she constantly has to take care off. Furthermore, as she is a genius that's soaring high above all, and the MC is a former genius who has fallen off his throne and become trash, this engagement just pulls all of the aggro upon the MC from the various of lust induced young masters. This engagement, which the FMC is forcing upon the MC, is only bringing harm to the MC and has no perceived value to either House Luolan or the MC. Remember, that the FMC is already a direct disciple of the MC's parents, and with such a status she should have enough leverage and righteous excuse to take care of the affairs that are troubling the house while the masters are away.
In other words, with a bit of extrapolation, one could infer that FMC is only insisting on the engagement due to her own selfish reasons, such as using the engagement as a shield to ward off all nuisance from hormone filled young master asking marriage, and direct them to MC instead. Furthermore, as she has essentially taken control of House Luolan in the absence of the masters, she has enough excuse to reap the plentiful rewards that it offers - and if Li Luo should die due to some hot blooded young master killing him in a "friendly" spar, she would be prized to take total control, and not just be a caretaker. This FMC just rubs me the wrong way. She could easily help the MC with just her status as direct disciple, and if she truly wanted to display her gratitude, then it would be enough to just take care of the internal issues that are present due to the masters disappearance.

Next up is the parents. We're told that they love the MC and that they has searched far and wide for a solution to his Blank Palaces. But for some reason they haven't told him anything. Like what? Isn't he your child? Why tell the FMC that they had found a solution, and make her bring him to get it? Is the FMC so much more trustworthy than their own child? Do they not see him as an adult, but a 2-3 years older FMC is more reliable? If it was me, I'd go "f#ck you," to that lack of faith, especially when it concerned my own future.
Next, many of the issues that plague House Luolan, could easily have been avoided with proper planning and staff vetting. Why didn't they hire extra help? Lock away business critical secrets? If you go in a dangerous expedition, you should do it with the mindset that something would go wrong, and if it did, how would the House survive. In just a few short years, the house has fallen, clearly showing that there was no planning, no insurance, and no backup plan in case the worst happened. Careless!

Lastly, the MC. I'm really frustrated with his personality. In the beginning he is completely ignorant, and is genuinely surprised when he hears that the house without a leader is rotten inside and out with two-faced people who are escalating internal troubles while outsiders are waiting to pounce on the fat lamb that has lost its leaders. Like wtf? Isn't he the young master? Isn't he supposed to be kept apprised of such developments? If you were a young master, and your parents suddenly went missing, wouldn't you step up and take the reins? It's like he has been kept in a glass cage, and only when the truth slaps him in the face does he learn of the dire straits that his House is in.
Luckily, he adapts quickly, and shows that he is actually cunning enough and can help in solve issues. What's annoying though, is the constant patronizing exclamations of surprise made by the FMC and other female side-characters (FMC's friends) whenever he does so, but then they quickly downplay his feats. Again, wtf? Even worse, the MC just accepts it, while buttering up to any and all female characters (especially the FMC) playing the loyal simp card again and again. I mean, hypothetically, if the FMC suddenly turned around and said, disdainfully, "I'm taking over House Luolan. It's mine and you're no longer the Young Master. Get out of my sight." the MC would probably just smile ingratiatingly while offering the keys to his house. No questions asked.

In short, the MC is a masochist simp - how else do you explain being happy with chasing after someone who has beaten you black and blue since childhood, holds no romantic feelings towards you, patronizes you, thinks of you as a child, and is generally condescending whenever you do something successful?
