This novel was made just to make money, so don't expect a masterpiece.
Masterpiece novels have endings, even readers reread them, and are still amazed.

I'm honestly not sure if I should be impressed or horrified that this novel is STILL going on! I stopped after the Thrud arc, and now I'm hesitant to pick up the novel again.

But whatever else, Legion20 has my respect. With all the novels that were dropped seemingly randomly by their authors, Legion has my respect for continuing on his story. I don't know if he (or she/their desired pronoun) is getting paid for this, but to be writing 1 story for this long, putting out consistent chapters, all with a decent word count... Simply remarkable 👏🏾

They’re getting money out if this, per contract. They’re simply milking it.

I've faithfully read this novel since 2019 and it's one of my favorites ever. It's true that power balance is confusing from time to time, but honestly the magis system, world building and social interactions are amazing in my opinion. I'm paused at chapter 3100 waiting to the end. I do agree author is stretching it but I love this story so much I'm willing to see what he wants to do.

Do bear in mind there are lots of chapters between arcs that are more slice of live than action or fantasy but they make the story so much richer in my oppinion. Sometimes it's frustrating how much charaters overcomplicate their emotions or impressions of events, but honestly that makes them all even more human. It just makes me think of my own friends an myself when we overcomplicate stuff and cry about it like idiots.

Truly love almost everything about this novel

Omg, 3779 and it's still going on.
Seriously, what can it take so long to tell? I dropped it at ~1500 chapters and even then it was dragging. I'm interested in the end point the author is leading to. What is it?

There is no end point, Lith lives, so the novel goes on, that's the point.

And well, imo the Thrud and her war arc was tragic but really good, but after that things got so slow that it's practically dragging on.

can someone explain the concept of balance to me in this novel?
As much as the Author harps about balance there is no notion of it thus far.
    1) When it comes to unawakened, magical beasts are stronger than humans( lets not even talk about unawakened emperor beast offsprings).
    2) When it comes to awakened - both emperor and Divine bests wipe the floor with humans.

Both emperor beasts and Divine beasts get bloodline abilities while humans are shown to have absolutely no advantages.
There isn't even a reduction in the reproductive cycles of such strong creatures as they easily have children.
With so many divine beasts and their long lifespan how is it that the planet hasn't fallen in resources.

I just want to know if humans have any advantages or not

Magical beasts are physically stronger than humans, and while their magic talent is also superior, it's only limited to their innate elements. Magically gifted humans can learn any magic, have educational system, technology, adaptability and basically all of the advantages real life humans have over beasts, except intelligence. Non-awakened humans are way superior to magical beasts as a race.

As for awakened, i just don't know, the balance has been non-existent the entire time. In theory humans suck, but in practice it doesn't matter that much, because the important things are your core, magical artifacts, and how many friends could help you in a fight. And everyone are selfish and solitary, so even if you are strong divine beast, you will be ambushed and killed by a bunch of greedy awakened once you show yourself to the world, who in turn probably try to ambush and kill each other afterwards.

Unity is non-existent, but when bunch of dragons appeared and dunked on everyone no one seemed to care about threat to the balance to change their ways and dragons also didn't care and f#cked off to their secluded caves afterwards. Eldritches has been OP from day one, now united and could even beat the guardians, but again, no one seems to care. There are others like that too, like f#cking cursed object coalition or something, who are unbeatable threats just by themselves. I fully expect surprised pikachu face from everyone when one of those will threaten the whole world.

Well cursed artifacts are called cursed because they can easily destroy balance of the world without going through orthodox process of becoming a Guardian.

My biggest gripe was about females getting more powerful magic than males on average, with a reason as stupid as them having less physical strength. Like seriously. In most cases of beasts, it's actually the female that's physically stronger than the male.

The only way, the author knows to make villains is by giving them power to make slaves. That's the whole novel really.

The MC is quite Powerful but he can't make slaves, and must rely on power of friendships (personal & political), divine beast connections and favour from guardians to even stand a chance.

Well... It was a major theme in this novel... That the most evil thing is to take away someone's free will.
