    Quote: True Martial Dao Ruler
My (long) review for the novel MARTIAL UNITY after reading it until the recent daily releases (chapter 2379). Read this review to help you decide if you want to read this novel.

Well, to start off, I would say that this novel has a very specific target of audiences. Genres and tags in this novel are mainly centered about fantasy, martial arts and adventure, but it will also have a significant amount of POLITICS after around 1500ish chapter. So, if you aren't that comfortable reading some politics, you should probably skip this novel.

    PROS/CONS

(+) World Building: The setting in which the mc reincarnated were not just a simple "martial world". Many elements were given attention and considerations, characters are 3-dimentional, allies and enemies are actually thinking and not affected by the intelligence reduction aura (referenced from the Simulating Endless Possibilities: Invincible Once I Act ch. 35). Various mysteries were present in the world setting and still left unanswered as of the latest chapter.

(+) Main Character: Rui, the MC of this novel, was matured enough to act like his true age. Calm, calculative, has friends (sorry edgelords), has EQ. Later in the story,
All of this shows his realistic character development and on how his environment slowly changed him, which is really contributes to the joys of reading this novel. Additional info - Rui always maximizes his knowledge as a past combat sports researcher to empower and distinguishes himself from others for his complex martial path.

(+) Power Levels: Well, power levels in this novel are cool and simple. They are easy to understand, as this novel have clear definition between on how powerful, capable and influential each realm are. Also, each realms have sub-realms (early, middle, late stage with defined numbers each to further define their progress) which is also neat and helpful for the readers to keep track.

(+) Combat (Fights, techniques, Prowess) : Fights in this novel were actually good, as the people involved in fights actually thinks and acts depending on the situation. The scenes were also properly depicted for the readers to immerse themselves to what is happening (maybe on the level of fate-destroying emperor - heavenly emperor arc and Beyond the Timescape). For the techniques, this novel has one of the most diverse techniques i've ever read (i've been reading novels daily for around 10 years~) as the people in this novel were
which in turn makes every techniques used to be unique. As for prowess, people in lowest realm simply can't beat the ones 1 realm higher than them due to overwhelming gap - specially in higher realms. In short, the novel tend to make it realistic as possible (maybe think of grade 1 student having the probability of 0.0001 percent beating a high school student in a math solving problem, that 0.0001 percent the likes of those special cases of having an IQ equivalent to stephen hawking).

(-) Side characters: while the side characters were 3-dimensional, and majority were still active in the storyline, some were simply forgotten and some were mentioned together in maybe 2-3 sentences just to give justification that they were still alive and kicking. After that, they would only appear after the next major arc. It makes the readers less attached to the incoming characters as they may just vanish and appear maybe 500 chapters later.

(-) Pacing: This novel has slow pacing of maybe just under or on-par with the king of the slow-paced cultivation novels, Paragon of Sin (PoS). The high-quality and attention to the events of the novel resulted to its pace being really slow. To give an idea of how slow it is, the mc of the novel is currently at
. Occasional Info-dump only made the pacing of the novel slower.

    TL;DR
Martial Unity has excellent world building, calm/intelligent MC, and good fight scenes but has really slow paced storyline and some vanishing side-characters. Still definitely recommend 4.7/5

But these cons are basically the side effects of the pro’s. So it’s really a good read give it a chance and it isn’t slow like mech touch(amazing development and read but mayn the slow progress).

And truly a wonderful summarization buddy, will surely help many readers.

Can someone please tell me about the world.
Like different races, beasts, elemental beings, spirits, kingdoms, clans, sects, guilds, advance tech, inheritance, magic, swords, army, treasures, ruins etc.
I gave you some details, does this novel contain any of these. Just want to know the background of the world.
    Thanks

Although it's interesting, I'm tired of the information dump. From chapter 600 to 900, he performs only two tasks and whole chapters go to his thought, conversation, going to the store. If you're lucky, there will be only one chapter, not five.

genuine question, does the writing get better later?
I understand that the author has a very expressive, albeit novice writing style, but it gets hard to read through the scientific explanation when there is no real science involved in an isekai wuxia novel

Writing, plot, MC development, and story simply improve as you progress in the story.
If you are referring to writing in the sense that at least 5 chapters are no longer used to describe the panorama of what is happening, then yes, it no longer happens, but still one or two chapters are used to explain things like the 'science' behind the created techniques. It should be noted that this is the author's first novel and that is why in the first 300-400 chapters you may see that the entire pace of the story feels very slow, and besides that, info dumps don't really help either. I personally like that these 'science' add-ons are included in these fantasy worlds and that is why I really like the story. Also, the MC is one of the most OP protagonists you can find out there, and the best part is that he is not OP without any sense since he is not given those hated power-ups out of nowhere. Instead, the only key and tool he has to become stronger in this world is his knowledge of his previous life.
In short, be patient. From my personal experience, it is definitely worth reading all the current chapters. If you don't have a favorite novel in terms of martial arts yet, then this one has a very strong potential to be it.

Understood, thanks! I like the science or explanation behind a certain technique, my only issue was that the 'science' itself was flawed since it brought in knowledge from two different worlds when there was a clear difference in play with the laws of physics.
