But after 14 billion years of refining and quite a few more to go, he decides to entertain himself by releasing countless systems and watching how the creatures of this fledgling universe handle them.

On Earth, a young man, lost and confused about what to do with his life, sits in a park and looks up at the night sky. A shooting star, a wish and a bang. A real review as of chapter 200ish

This novel is mundane. If you went into this expecting exitement and adventures then this is not for you. Author goes above and beyond to make this novel as boring as possible by providing only the safest options for story.

Edit : managed to read to the end. I would recommend fellow daoists to stay away from this novel. Author has tendency to sidetrack and write irrelevant chapters that make no difference to story on top of that they are filled with weeb mentality level jokes.

Asides from above MC is constantly made stupid so that plot can progress or he is made stuck so that "bad" things can happen. Clearly an indication that author has a hard time writing decent villains who could provide a match for MC.

Since I have read up to all available chapters I sm glad I wont be waiting to pick this up again. Tired of constant nerfs and roadblocks author is using.

Do you think Shadow Slave is also similarly poorly written then?

Recommend me some novels, something a little similar to this would be good, I can hardly find good American/English novels, and I'm fed up with Chinese novels, do you have any tips? specifically one in which the character's personality evolves over the course of the work

I don't know how to use the spoiler tag

In the end, one of the best works I've read, if it continues as it is it will have at least 1 thousand more chapters, and I hope the author doesn't end it abruptly.

    The good:
The quality of writing (Grammar, spelling, and overall use of language) is excellent. The humor can be pretty good. There is a huge cast of interesting characters, all of which feel unique. The world building is nothing revolutionary, but solid and well thought out.

    The Neutral:
Story is 35% slice of life, 35% "Inn/kingdom building", 20% cultivation, 10% adventure. The chapters are jam packed with pop culture references and fourth wall breaks.

    The bad:
The MC is my least favorite part about the novel. He's incompetent, stupid, and worst of all, uninteresting. The author introduces a great deal of interesting, funny and quirky characters. Multiple intersecting plotlines and mysteries to solve. But none of it really gets a chance to shine. Everything is too spread out and there's just too much going on for me to care about any of it.

    Personal enjoyment level: 3,2/5

I read close to 300 chapters then finally quit. Story was branching out in so many directions and turtle like pace. Mcs is still first realm power.

Not something which I eagerly await, but also not boring. The writing is good, the world building is not that bad. I do not care about anyone else other than the MC, so other characters development does not matter to me that much.

I like pile up at least 30 chapters, before reading.

The only problem I have with novel like these is, that there are too many characters, I always forget who is who.

These types of novel should come with character wikia.

A good read over the weekend.
